Back when when I upgraded my OS from Windows XP to Windows 7 I discovered that my computer no longer liked to properly run AOE in any form. Womp womp. However this re-release is compatible with XP up through 8 Pro+

I'm very excited to resume pissing off my SO by winning using a Wonder instead of outright warfare.

Age of Empires II constituted pretty much the entirety of junior high and high school for me. Mythology was cool and III was alright, but neither kept me hooked for long, and I never got into an RTS after that. The Conquerors was perfect, though. I'm sort of tempted to go back down that rabbit hole again.

I probably have a whole bunch of custom maps sitting on an old hard drive somewhere. World Map, some variants of King of the Hill, like 20 versions of Castle Blood. I have played so much Castle Blood, you guys. You have no idea.

I asked this in the other AoE 2 thread but I'm wondering if they're going to try to actually balance the game. IIRC the Huns never needed to build supply and that immediately got ridiculous.
