Chicken is fantastic, as long as it's actually cooked properly. If your primary exposure to chicken is premade stuff, then yeah I can see why you'd feel that way as commercial preparation isn't really going to bring out its best. So it's either bland or they tend to overseason/salt it to compensate. But a chicken that's been roasted well, with crispy skin and veggies roasted in the drippings, is marvelous. Or good hainanese chicken rice. But both methods require that you know how to actually cook it so it comes out right and is still tender, moist, and flavorful without having to rely on heavily seasoning it.

It is its own thing
