[PATV] Thursday, June 27, 2013 - Shut Up & Sit Down Season 2, Ep. 8: 6 Reviews in 12 Minutes
Another great episode, but couldn't disagree with you more on BAHOTH. Out of our entire board game library, it's without question the most popular and most played. The 2nd edition deals with all of the errata that plagued the first game.
I actually really enjoy Betrayal at the house on the hill. I've only ever had one play that was disappointing and that was due to the betrayer misunderstanding and everyone being tired.
This is the first time I've heard of Shadow Hunters. It sounds pretty cool, actually. Looking it up on BGG, it's popular enough (considering the sheer number of board games out there) but it's sub-400 in popularity.
Is it worth a purchase and not just based on the fact that you can be a colossal dick and have no idea wtf is going on?
@El Fantastico
My wife and I have owned Shadow Hunters for some time. It is pretty decent fun, but only with enough players. 6 players is enough; 4 players is outright boring; I don't think we have every played with 5, so I don't know which side of the dividing line it falls. So we only get it out when we have big groups.
The best part of these reviews are the subtle dry humor. The "Thanks second player!" part really made me laugh. The awards ceremony however was just a little too silly, and it kind of put a whole damper on the entire episode which was otherwise great.
Was this really only 12 minutes? I feel like I've been slogging through a 30 minute video tutorial on some piece of software that I never wanted to know how to use in the first place. I must have missed the nugget(s) that make this review worth my time. Anyone have this boiled down to a couple of useful sentences?
What I think I learned is that I want to play Galaxy Truckers - a game that was not even part of this review (?)

edit: Oh, right. OK. Yeah, I see.
