[PATV] Thursday, July 4, 2013 - Shut Up & Sit Down Season 2, Ep. 9: Terra Mystica
I may be alone in this, but the colours in the SUSD videos always puts me off it.
Have you guys considered getting some better lighting (doesn't have to be expensive studio lights, just *something*), and/or playing with custom white balance on the camera? (if it supports it) I think it will help a lot.
I know I'm very nitpicky, but it may just give your videos a notch up in quality
I decided to watch this because the game appeared to resemble Catan, which is a game I enjoy. I have since decided that I would like to try out this Terra Mystica. Also, some friends to play it against might be nice.
You guys missed some cool stuff, but that's absolutely understandable, given how much is going on in this game.
Anyway, it might be good to wait a bit before trying to acquire this game in the states. I spoke with some guys at Z-Man, the American publisher of Terra Mystica, at Origins, and they said that some new copies are going to ship in a couple months, since their first run ran out pretty fast. It's expensive normally ($80 seems to be the list price), and it's going to be marked up even higher right now.
Wow, that last bit about people sitting around and talking about their last turns reminds me of our boardgame night when we pull out Power Grid. We all get so hyped up and into it by the end of the game that we almost literally can't stop.
The pieces remind me it, too. If this game can provide a similar reaction, then it will definitely be worth the price I'll pay!

If the speed of light is faster then the speed of sound, is that why people always appear bright until they speak? o_O
Just want to thank you guys for costing me $100 so I could buy this game, looking forward to my unboxing later today (keep checking FedEx to make sure it is coming). I know I could save ~$30 by waiting a few months, but this looks like a Euro I might actually enjoy and it looks like it is even fun with 2 players which is big for my wife and I. Looking forward to it.

Seems pretty cool! Kinda reminds me of that island colonization game a few reviews back.
