Can't wait for this game, I really liked the first one. I'm going to have to play it again, and maybe get a bit more done in the end-game. A friend and I made a trade for no reason early on in both our games, and he sold his GBA and games, so I got screwed.
While there was a story in FFTA it wasn't very interesting. and 90% of the missions had no connection to the main plot. Just do some random jobs for people. That annoyed me. I want missions to move the story forward. I want them to have a point other than just completing it for the sake of it.
Unlike FFT, there was no excitement when it came to unlocking new classes (save the Assassin). The Judgement system was similarly bemusing, serving only as an avoidable nuisance rather than something that could enhance your enjoyment (maybe if using certain skills yielded a bonus on top of the penalties for using banned skills).
And ugh, towards the end I was just using Ultima skills and Stop Bracelet. There really wasn't much room for customization due to the small number of job combinations, and there weren't many situations that called for the use of other skills.

What are you talking about?
That's what they did? For every banned action there was an encouraged action that if you did you got JP.
Oh yeah? It's been a while.
Still, JP wasn't that important towards the end of the game. I'd have preferred something like Disgaea where you received a variety of rewards, some rare and worth the trouble of receiving even at the end.
And instead of making the laws something the player could control simply by wasting days, make specific laws for each battle that reflect some thought and add some challenge.
Maybe even add the ability re-do some missions with sterner laws (you can only use Red Magic to hurt people, for instance) that offer additional incentive for completion.
They weren't hard to get around. With a good group of characters, you could usually put in dudes that complied with the laws. I really don't think it's a deal breaker. I hope they put in a harder difficulty with perma death with some bonuses for us hardcore.

I remember my biggest disappointment about FFTA was not being able to have a wheelchair-bound character with unlimited movement.

I'd sell my soul for a lot of things.
I really don't want to have to buy a PSP.
I'm going to take the giant DS letters smack in the center of the add as the answer to my question.
The PSP is getting a remake of the PS version. With some added stuff I think.
The PSP game is a port of FFT.
Indeed, does look nice. I never got round to playing the GBA one, it seems to have barely dropped price anywhere, and I don't trust ebay.
But Whippy you sold me your soul so I'd get you that hot dog.
I sold you a soul
Wait.
Then who's soul is powering my gameboy now.
Obviously it's the same magic book that sucked the kids from FFTA into Ivalice.
Holy crap.
That's a Cluckatrace.
No doubt. Can you imagine how long it would take to get dressed if you had to put all that shit on?
Nails?
And part of that stuff is Balthier showing up. At last my PSP purchase will be justified!
I am a freaking nerd.
The E rating?
Well probably T, but still, I lol'd
I am a freaking nerd.
It looks kindof... Kingdom Heartsy.
I could never get into that game.
Or FFT, advance or the original.
Why am I in this thread?

Personally I hope the story keeps the same charm and whimsy as FFTA.
Also I didn't like FFT story.:P
