The problem with pointing that out is it doesn't do much to assuage his anxiety.
Reminding him that you're not going after the biggest nasty guy in the area isn't likely to add to his confidence. And may inspire him to ask some hard questions like "Then why aren't you going after them?". And the fact that we're trying to get in good with the bigger bad in order to take him down isn't something we want to spread around.

Ah, that's a good point.
The most obvious logical choice here is to lie, but I feel bad lying to someone who actually wants to do some good. So...
I didn't want to lie either.
Not sure if our lack of charm would make it harder to lie convincingly and I'd hate to start off by pissing off the bomb guy by (getting caught) lying to him.
