Whenever a new, addictive tile/blocks game (Lumines, Meteos, Bejeweled, Puzzle Quest) comes out, and I start playing it, I start seeing ghost tiles as I walk around. Like...I can be walking around outside and suddenly, BOOM! TETRIS right in front of my fucking eyes. It's disconcerting to say the least. I always have Lumines dreams...

I played so much SPF2:T at one point that any time my mind wasn't actively engaged in something else I'd be playing an imaginary game against myself. This also included dreaming games constantly while asleep.

This happened to me with Meteos after I got it, but it really hit my friends and I hard when we first got into Super Puzzle Fighter Turbo. All I could dream about was making these huge gems and them smashing them.
I was a tester for the American release of Puyo-Pop on the GBA. I played it 8 hours a day for about a month (we were only testing the localization, main testing was already done) and yeah... MAJOR 'tetris effect' going on there. I wouldn't fantasize about puyo or anything like that, but I definitely saw images of them when I closed my eyes, especially before bed.
I have played for many hours with many games over long periods of time and I never had this happen to me until about two weeks ago on my spring break I played an abundance of Starcraft with other PAers. Everytime I closed my eyes or tried to go to sleep I kept reliving earlier StarCraft games.
It was surreal. I was building units and moving them to attack and...playing the game while trying to sleep or while sleeping. It was unnerving to say the least.
It's pretty common I think. I got it pretty bad after Tetris DS hit.
Ok, I can't get the URL tag to work. Oh well.
I've always known it as Tetris Fever.
Meteos was the most dangerous for me, because everything comes so fast and frantic. Play enough rounds of 1,000 Meteo War to drive your time under 1:30 and you will be incapacitated for the better part of an hour.
I've never got anything visual like this, although back when Pokemon Red came out I would constantly hear the music playing in my head. I used to have to constantly check that I hadn't just left my Game Boy on.
Unfortunately, I have found that when I take random items and manage to make them fit together they don't get eliminated and there are no points rewarded. This is always disconcerting. I probably just have to stack more things together to pull off a better combo or something.
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

Holy crap, same thing happened to me.
It was always really faint, but I was so sure someone left their gameboy on.
I used to have this when I played Lemmings, I'd constantly be tracing the path that the Lemmings could go... builders up to the curtain rail... digger through the rail and then floater back down...
The second worst was Deus Ex. I'd see dark warehouses at night and wonder how best to assault them.
Just a bit ago, I went to lock the front door and I imagined red squares around it. God dammit.
Just make sure not to go with your first impulse. Otherwise the door will line up four red squares about three times in a row and fuck you over with skulls.

I gotta be careful when I play Meteos because of this. I used to play it every night before bed, but then for my entire sleep I would see Meteos, night after night. I just wasn't getting any rest and it wa skinda scary.
