We're holding a special S.H.I.E.L.D. recruitment drive this weekend - we need heroes to prove themselves in the S.H.I.E.LD. Holo-Sim to inspire new recruits! Austin will have the full details as we get closer, we'll also have a new Captain America: Winter Soldier costume in-store as well as a very, very cool Black Widow costume.

Starting Friday:

S.H.I.E.L.D. Holo-Sim loot quality will be increased from enemies and supervillains!

We've be delivering a special S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Preparedness Kit to anybody who logs in. This can contain a few different items, including one of two S.H.I.E.L.D.-themed Any Hero uniques!

In addition, watch your email inboxes this weekend for a cache from the S.H.I.E.L.D. storage!

Holosim weekend! Plus new costumes for Cap (movie) and BW (Fear Itself I think?). Plus a login kit and it seems some sort of email code as well! Will the code contain a hero or costume? Probably some boosts for sure.

I'm hoping for a sale on Cap myself, or maybe a bundle with him? At the very least the first. The new BW costume is neat but I think I still might like the Thunderbolts one the most.

I still have a slight hope that they're going to release Winter Soldier and they've just worked really hard to keep it under wraps.

Most likely they are legally barred from using him because of the Cap game, but still, that would be a nice tie-in for the movie.

I'm interested to see what the potential costume for Cap looks like in-game, as his armor in the new movie looks pretty high-tech, though a bit generic as well and not really iconic Captain America (other than the shield of course). Would be nice to see a general costume sale or maybe even a random give-away, but I won't hold my breath.

It's in the patch notes and I immediately thought Fuck That.

Like, with the synergy bonus I have now leveling to 60 is actually fairly quick. Maybe I will prestige a character just to give me more bars to fill with them and such....but 25 times as long?

Haha, yeah I had just passed 200 splinters, and when I saw Taskmaster was a thing, I didn't even hesitate. His power tree looks very fun!

This week’s patch is a small bug-fix and quality of life patch.

HERO CHANGES
Black Panther

To follow-up Black Panther’s level 52 design review, we’ve made a few additional changes directly based on player feedback:

Knockdown Sweep is now a 360 degree kick and has had the radius increased in all directions to further increase melee viability versus groups of enemies.

Predator's Frenzy has had a slight increase to its area to further increase melee viability versus clumped enemies.

Scything Sweep has had a slight increase to its radius to further increase melee viability versus enemy groups.

Enervating Slash has had its area of effect increased slightly, again to increase melee effectiveness versus enemy groups.

Cryo Dagger had tuning flags reviewed and adjusted slightly since it was double dipping a little when it came to CC effects. This will result in a small damage buff for the power.

Wrath of Bast has had additional functionality added to the power. In addition to everything it does now, Bast will now channel through your body and soul, adding damage to your melee and ranged attacks for a short time. This will have the side effect of a Melee and Ranged tag being added to the power, which is interesting from an itemization standpoint

Savage Strike - To prevent enemies receiving too many CC immunity stacking effects and therefore making the “good” CC abilities not trigger, Savage Strike no longer has the knock up effect, and it’s based damage has been increased in accordance with removing a short CC.

Doctor Strange

For performance reasons, Astral Projections now fire 2 projectiles per cast of Daggers of Daveroth. The damage of the daggers has been increased to compensate to result in the same overall damage per cast.

Astral Projection and Legion's ongoing spirit cost has been increased to 3/sec. Their base damage has been increased.

Fixed an issue where Astral Legion’s damage values were not properly based on ranks in Astral Projection.

Crimson Bands of Cyttorak will now correctly gain bonus from Damage Over Time items and relics.

Fixed an issue where Mysticism where the 5th incantation would be free instead of the 6th one.

COSMIC PRESTIGE!
A new level of Prestige has been added!

The sixth level of prestige will give players a yellow name, but leveling will take 25 times as long. This is a long time and requires patience and extreme dedication.

This is intended for the most hardcore of Marvel Heroes players and is not recommended for most players. Use caution before consuming the Ancient Gourd of Prestige and entering this prestige level.

ITEM CHANGES
Brevik’s Cowbell now has a very small chance to drop from Brevik in the Bovine Sector, and Bovineheim.

Now that Black Panther has advanced his knife-throwing abilities even more, his Knives of Zawavari was given bonus to ranged damage and ranks to Predator's Frenzy.

Black Panther’s Ebony Blade has had its damage slightly increased.

ENEMY CHANGES
A new form of Doop has appeared - and he’s out for vengeance. Cosmic Doop can spawn anywhere Doop does, but at 1/100th the chance. Be careful, he’s not going to run away...

Two new enemy affixes have been added: Mortal Strike and Teleport.

Mortal Strike is a boss-only affix and on hit, prevents a hero from healing for two seconds. It’s duration will appear in your Debuff panel on the lower right.

Teleport allows enemies to teleport to the hero directly.

Doop’s health in Midtown Manhattan has been increased.

M.O.D.O.K.’s health in S.H.I.E.L.D. Holo-Sim has been lowered.

MISSION CHANGES
Raised the minimum amount of time the MODOK Holo-Sim wave will have; currently, if you encounter MODOK waves in the Holo-Sim the time given will decrease to a certain minimum - this minimum is what has been raised).

Downgraded VIP Holo-Sim scenarios HYDRA Brawlers and Gunners from Elites to Champions.

BUG FIXES
Fixed an issue where double clicking a hero on your roster would not switch to that hero.

Fixed an issue with the “Learn the Crafting System” mission.

Fixed an issue where the chat panel would constantly display friends signing off.

During the final phase of the Doctor Doom fight in Latveria, Doom will once again summon multiple types of cosmic enemies, as intended.

Fixed an issue where melee and ranged damage stats were appearing with decimals and as percentages.

Fixed an issue where Black Panther’s Scything Sweep & Enervation Daggers were not properly capping at 5 bleed stacks.

IN DEVELOPMENT
Team-Ups are in the final stages of approvals and should ship next week.

Black Widow’s level 52 review in on target for the last week of April.

Invisible Woman is on target for the last week of April. Several new systems are coming soon. Check out the forums for teasers and information.

Taskmaster is great! Though I bought his bundle and I'm undecided on which costume to use. I like parts of each costume. I wish the Udon costume had a cape.

I'm also undecided how to spec but I'm leaning towards melee as I'm also playing Hawkeye at the moment.

I am thinking melee might probably be stronger but I am really enjoying my made-up-on-the-spot captain/archer "build". though I feel squishy despite the cap bonuses. hope that will change once I can equip some artifacts.

I love that you can run two copy auras.

I really kind of dig the umpteen area of effect damage skills and a basic that ain't too shabby so far which gets bonuses the less spirit I have.

was a fun surprise today, sadly I did not find any TM uniques.

Yeah it's funny that a practical joke like that not only turned out to be real, but an excellent character and probably one of the more fun in the game. Just the fact that he has Cap's shield bounce makes him strong, but he also gets some of Hawkeye's best moves.

Disappointingly Tasky had no comments when he fought (or even defeated) himself, but I guess that's why he's only a 200 ES character.

Alright, someone explain Legendary items to me. It takes 30 mil exp to get this one up to rank 1. Which gives you +10% exp when equipped. I'm going to assume that by then I would be max level and have no need for bonus exp...

Well, the legendary keeps leveling; but beyond that, you could always prestige.
