I'm interested, but which of the myriad systems would you be going for?

Sounds good to me. I'd be interested to see how Black Crusade runs personally, and it seems like the most mature of the 3 systems assuming you aren't talking about Dark Heresy V2.

I would play.
I am game for a hybrid.
Edit: I have seen BC only mixed in with a RT game. It was interesting to see the characters run.
I have played in a few RT games but they tended to fall apart after the first mission.
That is why I say hybrid because it seems mixing the characters from the different systems tend to make a game last longer.

A single game that uses characters from each of the different systems that have been made.
The game that lasted the longest I played in was centered on a RT ship with the option to play as any of the available characters be it from RT to DW to DH.
Only war wasn't out last time I played in a game.

That does not seem like it would go well at all any more, especially with all the small changes to the combat system and the larger changes to things like Unnatural stat bonuses.

It was actually kinda awesome and it worked. But then with how the dm was running stuff he made combat work on different levels for all parties involved.

Right, but Black Crusade made some pretty fundamental changes to the combat, like the bonuses for Single Shot vs. Full Auto. There's a fair bit of work involved in making older characters play nice in that system.

Nods I forgot how we handled the changes to the system. I know a few of us made more then one toon to play on the different parts of the game the dm had running.
We had the RT crew, An inquisition group, a squad of space marines, and then we had a imp guard arm that had an emergency extract and the RT ship was the closest to help...so we had some people playing DH imp guards.
It wasn't just the RT ship we had a group of ships that were with us.

If it was just DH, RT and DW there weren't any major system changes (other than Psykers) to worry about. Black Crusade is where they started actually rebalancing things.

Anything is good, although you probably want to work out exactly what books and things you're using first. And you probably want to keep that simple for an online game.

I can agree to pretty much anything for game play.
The RT system helps facilitate a wider range of possibilities to run with for a longer game.
But the other systems do add damned good flavor.

Well, I believe that I have most of the books presently in circulation. Character creation should primarily be limited to DH, RT and ItS, with anything outside of those being cited by the player for review.
I "stole" the below for the game from a previous game I was in on this site. Seems as good enough a place to start as any.
Game Type: Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader RPG
Submissions: Up to 2 per person. I don't need more than a few sentences or so of background and personality, but hey, if you want to write more, by all means. Integrating backgrounds with other party members is always encouraged.
Character Creation: Standard rules, and I have Dark Heresy and Into the Storm if you want to use them . For Abilities, roll your scores on Invisible Castle and, if you're unhappy with them, switch to 100-point buy and buy away. Assume you roll Max for starting Fate Points, Wounds, and (if you have 'em) Insanity and Corruption.
Grammar: Strongly preferred.
Dice Rolling/Sheets: I am a fan of Invisible Castle for rollers, though if you know of other good ones, I always love to learn new things. Don’t know of any sheet hosting sites for Rogue Trader, so just Spoiler your pertinent stats here and they’ll get grouped up.
Story and Setting: This is up to you! Once people start submitting characters, I want a whole lot of cross-discussion about A) What kind of game people are looking for (political, combat, space opera, etc), What kind of Endeavors you want to pursue, C) What kind of a Ship you want to build, D) Anything else you want me to know.
Players: 5ish of all shapes and sizes, though I reserve the right to be foolish and go over this number.
Posting Schedule: I ain't gonna lie, there's probably gonna be times where I can't post for a couple days, and I know that real life happens to people too. I'll try to keep up at least 1 post per day when I'm able, though, and hope that I can keep my players enthusiastic enough throughout so they do the same. If you're gonna hit a rough spot (finals, big project, etc) and want someone to take over your guy for a few days, cool. And if you're in the game and need to drop for whatever reason, please do post a quick message either on the board or to my Inbox; it happens, it's alright, it was fun to game with you, just please let us know so we can move on and decide whether to bring someone else in.
Submission Cutoff and Game Starting Date: It is Monday the 7th; please post that you're interested in gaming no later than Sunday, October 20th, 11:59pm PST. You'll have time after that to finish up and submit a character, leaving ample time for the playeres to decide their direction, with a few inputs from the GM.

Sure, I'm in. I'll have a think about characters. Although probably Explorator, as that's my default.
Damn, the Origin Path is a mess. Glad they got rid of it.
I just noticed that the extra stuff counts as rolling max. That's excellent. I was going to ask about breaks in the Origin Path, but I'm not sure that's wise any more.

The elevation of a new Rogue Trader to the dynasty's Warrant of Trade is a rare event and one marked with both grief and celebration.
Grief, for the loss of a dynastic Patriarch and celebration for the newly-anointed Rogue Trader to the reins of the dynasty. In this
instance, a grand celebration has been set in the highest tiers of the Hive, marking both events. Here, with the cream of the Hive's
population present, the death of Patriarch Novus Tellarch and the elevation of his grand-nephew to the familial Warrant of Trade.
Among the guests are the companions and senior staff of the Tellarch Dynasty's flagship, relegated to a small table in the back of the
hall with a aged man in fine green silk robes.
"I am compradore Shen Tellarch, seneschal to the Tellarch Dynasty for the last 93 years. I wish to welcome you to the celebration and acquaint new members
of the command staff and to guide you through this time of mourning and change. I am here to answer your questions as to the Dynasty's responsibilities
and opportunities in this time of flux."
****ROLE-PLAY SECTION****
Just as opportunity for some soft RP and establishing characters. I've taken the liberty of putting together a RT, against the possibility that no one wants to
play the Rogue Trader. I've also figured out the path of the Warrant to Trade (62 SP, 30PF, making the Dynasty ship rich and resource poor, give or take a skosh.
Unless someone want me to do it, I'd like to leave ship design to the players, but will certainly help, if requested.

To be fair, neither would the heretical tech-priest. Also a note, the aforementioned Explorator gives a -1 penalty to starting Profit Factor. Sorry guys. Although maybe I should swap Calamity out for something else given it's apparently more flexible. I'll have to think.
Nope. Going to keep things simple and stick with what I've got. I'm not sure we need more Insanity points yet anyway.
So now some back story.
The product of a rogue Genetor on a hidden station, the entity that would become the Explorator known only as Terminus was one of a small number of "successful" attempts to replicate the Emperor's Primarch program. While the results paled in comparison to the mighty Primarchs, simply getting a vat-born human to survive was an excellent first step. Inducted into the ranks of the station's Tech-Priests shortly after his "birth", Terminus was trained as well as thoroughly as a legitimate applicant. This training served him well when the Mechanicus finally caught wind of the experimentation and sent a vessel to purge the station and claim it's data. Able to slip aboard the invading vessel, he could survive the purge. However, it is only a matter of time before the Mechanicus agents break the encryption on the data and discover that there were more test subjects than they found, and make the connection to the (at the time) lowly Enginseer. Terminus knows this, which is why he has gotten himself assigned to a vessel headed out of the Imperium. The only way to be safe is to never be found, and that is much easier to achieve on the frontier.
Like all of his brotherhood, Terminus thirsts for knowledge. His unnatural origins have lent a somewhat darker bent to that thirst, with an almost genetic need to learn more about his origins. His creator's work is out of reach, but there are plenty of options on the frontier to reproduce it. It's simply a matter of gaining the needed experience and resources.

I am currently immune to Fear(1) due to Insanity. I was considering swapping Calamity for Dark Voyage and getting more Forbidden Lore and an extra 5 Insanity, but Light Sleeper and Nerves of Steel are better for a runaway I think.
Wait, Missionaries start with a Sepulchre? How does that work?
I propose a minimum number of Insanity points to join the crew. Maybe 10?

Pretty much anyone can start with something that'll punch most of the way through Power Armour. Meltaguns are only Rare, and Plasma Very Rare. You can grab a common craftsmanship Plasma Gun + two upgrades as your starting acquisition.
Or alternatively start with Power Armour of your own. Light or Regular both fit into starting Acquisitions.
You do know what a Sepulchre is right?

Still cooking numbers, but I will be Bron Garga, arch militant hailing from a death world.
I don't think it needs to be scrapped per say, just that the tech priest wouldn't go without very good reason. Although, given that he's probably head of engineering at this point it might simply be the captain taking the bridge crew along.

Having an actual RT would be handy. Preferable to have a player be the boss rather than a GMPC.
