It's entirely possible this thread is going to end up locked and with a link to the tabletop forum at some point, because seriously, it's traffic level is ridiculous.

but there's people we don't associate with in there!
My favorite Star Wars experience was way back about 17-18 years ago when I went to a convention down at Sea-Tac. I think it was Dragonflight but this was a long time ago. My friend Matt had signed up to GM a Star Wars scenario at the con and so I signed up along with my friend Mike because we knew he was a fun GM. So we're playing this scenario with three or four other guys and one gal. One of the guys is playing an engineer or had the engineer skill at least, and he kept hitting on the girl through her character. Yeah, one of those guys.
So toward the end of the scenario our ship crashes on a planet. Mr. Romantic tells Matt he wants to make an engineering roll to repair the ship but Matt just says it's totalled, no repair possible. Dude doesn't get it and keeps pushing for an engineering roll and Matt keeps explaining it's not repairable. He just refuses to get it so finally Matt asks him if he's ever seen a car totalled by a train before. Dude's silent for about five seconds before announcing his last girlfriend was killed by a train. After a brief silence Mike, Matt, and I all start laughing uncontrollably. Yeah, the scenario was over at that point.

We had a standing house rule that any time anyone, friend or foe, rolled all ones on five or more dice, a proton torpedo dropped out of hyperspace and detonated right on their head.
The first time it happened, it happened to me.
The first night I ever played.

Yeah, everyone felt bad for me, so we decided that, since he was a Verpine, one of his genetically identical hive-brothers just walked into the room right when it happened, so I just changed his name slightly and we went on about our business.

I know you're just gonna do what you're gonna do but the people that post in Dice and Men are generally people that pretty much are focused just on gaming and I for one wouldn't care to post anywhere in that forum. I suspect I'm not the only one. They probably wouldn't let katchem post there, they would get even more up in arms than we pretend to. katchem deserves a place to display his monstrosities and we should get to laugh at them.
I'm off to the games workshop store right now. I'm getting futility into the hobby today, and he's going to need a pusher.
Also, it's an excuse for me to go buy some wings for my hive tyrant and a forgeworld broadside.

I personally love having a tabletop thread in SE++.
Its siren call is slowly luring more people to play 40k, who I hope will then post in ODaM.
As opposed to fags that won't go into that forum to begin with
Plus, dudes, Ash.

So I just made a quick and simple Army Points Calculator in Excel. You can enter your army point goal and the cost of each unit and upgrade on it and it will automatically tally the points and how many points you have remaining to spend toward your goal.
Anyone want to take a look at it and let me know what they think? I entered a couple sample totals into it, to show basic formatting. It is set up to support up to 150 entries right now, but it's simple to add more as needed.

See, that was a big point of the thread in the first place. It wouldn't break my heart to see more people frequenting oDaM, but this was more about generating interest in tbaletop games, raising awareness of the games and the forum dedicated to them and increasing traffic.
Right now I think its better to have one in SE, as I think we're a little ways away from being ready to have everything move to oDaM, but this thread and that forum are complimenting each other nicely.
I've got a question for those of you that play DoW. Any of you play it on a Vista machine? I just want to make sure it runs correctly in Vista before I buy it.

That was a really good system. I had almost all those WEG books, but I sold them when I moved off to college.
