No, I haven't run away from the thread, I was here reading replies.
So I have to draw real-life art first. Well the eye chart was good and it showed me positioning of the eye, but is there a way I can do it without drawing real-life? I really don't like that medium.

To help you guys out, Katchem is probably looking for whatever medium has the most to do with JRPGs. Whatever medium that is, that's what he's looking for.

What part of the fact that everyone in this thread telling you to draw realistically before trying to draw stylistically didn't you understand?
You know what? Here's your answer; you can keep on going the route that you have already chosen. You might learn a little and get slightly better but it will take much longer to progress and you will lack in real substance as an artist. Also, you'll hear a bunch of AC regulars tell you off for a while until we just lock your threads off the bat. This is what happened to keyeske.

Yes and no. He had a bit of skill but he was mostly copying other, established artists, pieces and reforming them just enough to make them his own. He wasn't terrible but he wasn't all that great and he never really progressed. If you google the name you can find his deviant art gallery, which is still the same level of skill he presented here all those years ago.

Mediums are things like charcoal and paint.
Yeah, but what medium has the most to do with JRPGs. That's what Katchem is wanting.
I don't think you got the joke. F+. See me after class

Ok so I have to start drawing in real-life mode. Is there a good book I should start from?
Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist by Steven Rogers Peck is always a good book to have handy when you need it. If you're going to be drawing figures in outrageous poses then I would also suggest Dynamic Figure Drawing by Burne Hogarth

I've got that book, and Anatomy for the Artist by Jen Barcsay.
Hogarth's drawings have some slightly exaggerated/styled muscle definition, which should be kept in mind when using it for a reference or study material. It's an excellent book regardless, especially for understanding the shapes of the body and its muscles.
The other book that I mentioned is much, much more scientific/medical in the style of the drawings, and thus I find it a good compliment to the Hogarth book. The Anatomy for the Artist book shows you the skeleton and each individual bone in various views. Then, muscles are added, and you can see not only what a muscle looks like in 3D, but you can see the muscles that lie under and over it, as well. Really very nice and informative.
Drawing from Life (Third Edition) by Clint Brown and Cheryl McLean is another great book, but it's kind of pricey, like $40 at some places and $90 brand new
Oh yeah. I recommended a friend check out Andrew Loomis, and he downloaded the books and right there in the figure reference section amongst the nude men and women were a whole bunch of naked children. Teehee!
Going by the image filename. I believe it's the small clip that plays two scenes, one from Cowboy Bebop and the other from naruto. They are basically identical. I guess Naruto rips quite a few things from multiple sources. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgvlMPO0Xq0&mode=related&search=

Biting off of a kung fu movie like a jackie chan doesn't get my goat so much as them actually biting a movie that came out like...6 years ago. That's no time at all.

Same angle and everything? Hahaha. Figures it would. Either way, Naruto's take on it seemed horribly close to the Bebop version, which I'm guessing was also frame for frame close to the Bruce Lee original. Naruto gets a for going "ME TOO ME TOO!" and trying to ride on Bebop's homage.
Then again. That sort of thing saves money. Disney did it a shitload back in the day, and it worked for them. It was still good stuff. I think.
Because it fits so exactly it makes me think its more of a tribute or something. Like they were impressed with Cowboy and wanted to show their love of the show.
Don't think so. If so, they wouldn't have picked something so subtle as that. Bebop is known as a show filled with homages and references to people from Bruce Lee to Charlie Parker. It's really no secret that Spike's fighting style mirrors Bruce Lee's; and as such, I'm sure more than one of the fight sequences is taken from a Bruce Lee movie, but the show is very forthcoming about it.
bread of wonder on
Long distance runner, what you standin' there for?
The only logical explanation is what Ive been saying for over a year now, Naruto is out to ruin the image of ninjas, anime, japan, and humanity in general... believe it.

Didn't we eventually ban that guy?
Also, didn't he actually have some skill?
I forget the details.

you know this guy, right?
well, AC, this is katchem_ash
he is oblivious to the world outside anime and everything he does is an attempt to further his anime ideals
he will not listen to criticisms or heed advice
he is well known among the other boards
Katchem is legendary regarding this type of shit.
He's SE++'s personal whipping boy, and he just keeps coming back for more.
There's probably a master template out there somewhere.

Also, I had heard that Naruto/Bebop thing was originally from a Bruce Lee movie, but which one exactly I have no idea.
