The only logical explanation is what Ive been saying for over a year now, Naruto is out to ruin the image of ninjas, anime, japan, and humanity in general... believe it.
Their jumpsuits and headbands throw me off.
In comparison Scorpion and Sub-Zero might as well be dressed as a couple of farmers.
Actually a lot of anime character designs are lacking, I'd say. If so many of them didn't have the exact same take on the same art style, they wouldn't have to keep coming up with zany hair colors and cowlicks, or space school girl uniforms.
Their are unique and well drawn anime out there, unfortunately they get less recognition than some less deserving ninjas in orange track suits. For every Trinity Blood and FL-CL there's 10 Narutos and Inuyashas. This is the reason you should start drawing from life, Katchem_ash (assuming your still listening), so that you can defy stale conventions and approach the style in a fresh unique way.

Katchem Ash: not a fan of real life.
Any sculpters around that can give him some pointers? I'm not experienced with doing full body parts, and even then my work on that scale has been... smaller, I guess would be the term.
Don't think so. If so, they wouldn't have picked something so subtle as that. Bebop is known as a show filled with homages and references to people from Bruce Lee to Charlie Parker.
You realize the contradiction you're making, right? Also I doubt the vast majority of people that watch Cowboy Bebop have no clue about any of the homages being made.
It's really no secret that Spike's fighting style mirrors Bruce Lee's; and as such, I'm sure more than one of the fight sequences is taken from a Bruce Lee movie, but the show is very forthcoming about it.
Seeing as how there's an episode dedicated to Spike talking about how he's using Bruce Lee's own style, yeah, it's definitely no secret.

I meant Naruto wouldn't have picked something as subtle (that particular fighting sequence) for a homage to Bebop. That's no contradiction. Maybe most people are oblivious to the homages being made (I wouldn't doubt it - the anime crowd being what it is), but they're there. Are you suggesting the characters explain all the references they make?
Actually, there is part of an episode dedicated to his style (Session #8, Waltz for Venus), but Spike doesn't come out saying Bruce Lee's name or anything. He does quote him though, "be like water." That's pretty forthcoming if you ask me. That is, if the viewer knows their Bruce Lee movies. Not like references really make sense if the viewer doesn't have any knowledge about them.

No, no, see, you've all got it wrong.
Every anime is drawn by one person. There's just one lonely Japanese person sitting in a room with a lot of pencils and time. He makes all the anime. ;-)

Trinity Blood didn't look so unique.
