IE - need to disable preview pane

deathnote666deathnote666 Registered User regular
I have the button to disable it each time I try to attach a document but want it disabled permanently. If I leave it on and click a word doc, I get the can't create work file, etc. messages.

I click organize and try to go down to Folder and Search options but it is grayed out.

You need to be admin to do this...

Open up the Regedit and navigate to the following:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Right click and add a new dword value
    Name it "NoReadingPane"
make it a value of 1

restart the explorer process by either rebooting, logging off/back on, or killing the explorer process and restarting it with the task manager.

if this is Greek to you, you can download a run a .reg file that does this for you here.
