Looking for a show similar to Extra Credits, covering other subjects

Hi there!

So I've discovered Extra Credits recently and have eaten every single episode in about a week. I love the show, and will definitely be watching future episodes, but it got me wondering if there are any other shows like that around the interwebs (of course there are!)

I'm looking for something following the same "formula" as Extra Credits. A 10-20 minutes show (TV or Youtube or whatever), not necessarily about games, made by people with a background in the field that do extensive research on a different subject each episode.

Science and cinema are two subjects that I would really love to watch an "Extra Credit"-ish show about.

Any suggestions? I hope I've posted this in the right section of the forums...

Thanks!

PS: pardon my very strange English vocabulary

You could try "Crash Course", they have series on chemistry, biology, literature, ecology, world history and US history.

On topics like cinema, comics, tv shows etc you could try "The Big Picture" by MovieBob on The Escapist.

    You might try TED talks.

    Agree on TED Talks

Also, it's fairly new , think only 4 or 5 episodes so far, but the Extra Credits team is also doing History videos, they did the Punic War so far, and it was excellent

Crash Course and pretty much everything else offered through Mental Floss video channels.

For anyone else looking for shows like this: Vsauce is a good pick

The Connections series were pretty good. The first season was ten episodes, each close to an hour in length.

Darn, I've been thinking the same thing recently and was really hoping someone would offer up something other than Crash Course (since I've watched all those too).

I would also recommend CGPGrey who does some great videos explaining some complex ideas in simple terms.

If you're a literature person, you may like Thug Notes. It's got a bit of a different flavour - the entire thing is steeped in satire - but at the end of the day does some really good analysis of some classic texts.
