Anyone ever do anything like this? I'm stuck on a homework problem
    Let X and Y be independent random variables with respective pdf's f(x) = 3x^2; 0 < x < 1 and g(y) = 4y^3; 0 < y < 1. What's the pdf of Z =Y/X? What is P(Z < 0.5)?

What I'm doing is creating a new variable V, and setting it to X. Then X=V and Y=ZV.

The Jacobian is |v| or just v since we know v is always positive.

Then we integrate v*f(v)*g(zv) dv from 0 to 1 (the range of x) and we get the pdf of Z as

    int(v*3v^2*4(zv)^3)dv=int(12 v^6 z^3)dv = 12/7 z^3 where 0<z

Except... that answer makes no sense whatsoever. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.

man. someone in my house asked for successful uncle's number. find out later they were asking to give it to oen of my trashier relatives. 'oh she wanted his info to beg for money'.

i responded, 'well if you knew that maybe you should have let me know? i probably would have thought twice about giving away mark's number. i'd have asked him first if he was ok with it'. but my aunt's bff is looking at me like i'm insane for caring about this. i can't tell if they legit don't understand why this owuld bother me or if they're playing dumb.

my fault in the end i guess. i should have been more critical, knowing my family.

On the bright side the rest of this homework is really easy. It's just that one damn problem I'm not sure what's going on. The professor went over the first half, too! I've been getting good grades in this class so it's not like getting lots of points off of one assignment on one problem set will kill me, but it's going to bother me until the solutions are posted.

Really nice idea for a game though. Really nice. I want FTL2 to use the same metagame thing.

how come lego games are so wonderful all the time

    I gotta play one

which would you recommend, when the time comes?

I feel like they are all 100% the same, so it comes down to what your jam is.

I watched someone play through Lego Marvel and I'm currently playing through Lego Lord of the Rings.

If you like DC, do Lego Batman 2.
    Harry Potter? LotR? etc etc

It's more the joy of running around as lego versions of your favorite minor characters.

LOTR sounds about right. thanks buddddd

How are you liking the 760, Chu? I somehow didn't end up picking any GPUs. Going to have to wait until those big, um, Valentine Day sales to roll around before I try again.
