In-App purchases these days

So it seems pretty much every game in the app store has switched to the free to download that pressure you into in game app purchases. And including PC games like World of Tanks.

For the mobile games, you can easily make a $100 for the in game currency to buy in game stuff with. Mostly kids are the ones who do that because they have no idea what is going on. But for someone who knows it's spending their own money, who would think that's a great deal to spend that much for one app or one game? I would rather pay $60 for a quality made Xbox 360 game than paying the same amount to get $60 worth of gems or fruitberry currency for the in game app. At least with COD, the only in game stuff you purchase are new maps, which is something tangible and something of value. But power ups, those things should be free and the fun of getting power ups is obtaining them by playing the game, not buying them.

But so many gaming companies are switching to the in app purchase because it has proven to be more profitable than buying the game. I don't mind downloading them since they're free, but I'll never buy any in game purchase stuff. I'm fine paying $1-5 for an game and not being pressured to buy in game purchases to get the full experience. I just hope console games won't start doing in game purchases for power ups. I'm fine with new levels, but even consoles have been doing the in game purchase idea by trying to get you to buy a car that has this certain ability, which is like buying an in game power up. Or costumes, etc.

But people have been paying hackers/modders since the MW2 days for that 10th prestige and feel it's totally worth $10-20 for a 10th prestige emblem. So guess the gaming companies are trying to get in on that money people who value paying money to be better than everyone else at a video game.

    I'm playing this game now.

The in game purchases are just going way too far.

I have to pay for my food.

And to catch the train to work.

And I have to pay for stuff for my girlfriend too!

And don't get me started on paying my power bills.

Back when I was an in-app purchase you had to mail in, wait two weeks to see if I got it, then I'd have to sit in the mail for another two weeks until I arrived at your house. Half the time I wouldn't even get to the right house. I tell ya, in-app purchases have it easy these days.

I hate this crap more than I can articulate. I want to pay for the game and then play the game and never get hassled about money again. That dude in the camp in Dragon Age Origins was exactly as much as I'm prepared to tolerate.

I hate it when the progress of a game is ground to a halt unless you shell out money. You're making your game shit on purpose to make people pay for what they hope is a better experience. Just put out a demo and say "if you want to play the full game, purchase the whole thing here." Of course I know that doesn't make nearly as much money.
