Although Mikey's probably going to be busy organizing Desert Bus South.

    [/incrediblydeepcut]

Although a new game would totally give him another round of things to auction off for charity, so I support it.

Is anyone else missing the Ghostbusters achievement in Pre-Sequel? I kind of want to knock this one out, but it needs 4 players to get, and I am but one.

Sorry to bump this thread but my buddy and I are playing through Borderlands 1 because I never beat it and I'd say it is way more fun after having hundreds upon hundreds of hours in Borderlands 2, just because of all the characters and locations I know popping up everywhere.

Like here's Tannis going crazy, here's Helena Pierce, here's Earl the Iridium Dealer living in a junkyard.

Borderlands is so freaking great. I was in need of some gaming comfort food last month and just decided to run yet another character (yet another Siren no less) through the early game. Ended up playing her to meeting Tannis and Crazy Earl. Might just go ahead and finish the playthrough (although now Tyranny has me hooked...)

BL2 was an upgrade to so many aspects of BL1 (not all, but many). But Borderlands 1 was and is just kind of magic.

This has bugged me for a while. Can anyone tell me why it is that Borderlands 2 is so much more popular than PS?

I get that preferences are preferences, but I always found BL2's mechanics to be lacking compares to PS's, if for nothing else than buttslams and the fact you don't need slag for endgame.

Personally, I like the characters better, and it's a longer campaign with better (and more) download content. Specifically the Badass Crater of Badassitude is amazing.

The story of 2 is better, for sure. Just puzzled why 2 continues chugging away on steam stats while PS died - hard.

Maybe characters is it, like you said.

All characters for Borderlands 3. Dooo iiiiit.

Whatever they do, hopefully they finally take a hard look at it and fix the difficulty/scaling issues.

I think everyone may have just gotten their fill with BL2.

Borderlands 2 has far more content, and Pre-Sequel didn't really strive to be the next big game.

I think TPS made some smart improvements from BL2, but there just isn't that much to do in it. I also think the moon setting, while neat, lacks the amazing visual variety that BL2 had. In an ideal world, the Borderlands Handsome Collection would've allowed some sort of "cross-play" between the games. I'd love to run around the Borderlands 2 maps with Athena.

there is literally not even enough content in PS to hit the level-cap without grinding

    it's bizarre

Years ago Randy Pitchford expressed surprise that no one had tried to copy Borderlands' formula. I guess the closest we ever got was Destiny, which falls well short of achieving even a fraction of the magic or fun of any Borderlands game. There's nothing quite like this series and I'm kind of sad more companies haven't ripped it off.

I'm pretty sure you couldn't do that in the Borderlands 2 base game either.

I'd have to disagree. The main story in BL2 is better, but the in gameplay in Destiny is waaay better than the gameplay in borderlands. I don't have to grind for hours to get a gun that doesn't feel garbage to use in Destiny, I can just get any gun.

I don't know about that. I remember hitting the benchmarks for NVHM and TVHM (~30 and 50) quite easily. In presequel I think I tapped out at something like 26 and 42. And XP growth in UVHM was so slow that you were better off grinding than doing quests. I wound up save editing my level 50 characters to 60, because when I did beat UVHM, I was at like, 55.

TVHM was in the base game? I thought that was in one of the expansions like UVHM was.

Pre-Sequel was hamstrung by BL2 because while it was different, it wasn't different enough. It also suffered from knowing the end of the story before it even started. It could have been a good segue into BL2, but it would not have existed if BL2 hadn't come first.

Also on a personal note, the game had way too much Moxxi. I get that she's super-smart and all, but the game pretty much didn't happen at all unless she was there. And Jack is not nearly pissed off enough at her in BL2 to compensate, because we all know he's petty and vindictive as shit.

BL2 just hit every right button with me and my friends. We played it relentlessly when it came out, then moved on to different games, but always came back to it.

We're back into a Borderlands phase now. We'll probably do a full op8 run on 2 next.

TVHM was just the 2nd playthrough/New Game+, it was in 2 and PS. UVHM was the 3rd playthrough/NG++, that was DLC.

Announced insofar as Pitchford has said "We're working on it."

Those screens are just Gearbox experimenting with UE4.

I've been playing through Borderlands 2 on the xbone and I forgot how awful the leveling is. Like you over level content by doing side quests, and then you run into a section where the levels have jumped up and you are getting killed because your gear is behind. Its rather frustrating.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

UVHM is terribly balanced but at least it frikkin matches vendors and named mooks to your level. I dont know why thats not standard.

Im at my breaking point for solo and its impossible to find a group so I can relate to feeling frustrated

Krieg can kinda cheat that but after the first area UVHM hits some serious walls without proper gear and builds.

Yeah I haven't finished the game to unlock UVHM. I'm level 27 at the preserve and like everything is beneath me by a lot.

I mean I'm playing salvador so his power at least helps the situation, but it is frustrating to go from "This isn't a challenge" to "God damn it dead again."

I hope with BL3 they do better with difficulty matching. Like I'd rather lose the fun of stomping low level critters to get that I'm always challenged and finding loot worthwhile versus what's going on in 2.

I only have 5 on the xbone since my OG playing was PC. Is there some list of codes that would net me fat keys?

I do have to say eridium weapons continue to make me sad. I've gotten 3 verions of that dart pistol and everytime it like "I want to use you, but you're no good baby!"

The actual announcement to release time for BL2 was pretty short - less than a year if I recall. So any release of info of BL3 is good news. I guess it would be a little better if they had actually said "Borderlands 3," but I'll take what I can get. <3

I'll hit those up at home.

I'm fine with doing things as they are right now. I just wish the game was more fun when leveling. But I wouldn't mind doing some of the expansion stuff (I have the base 4, not any of the head hunter stuff) later on.

To me, General Knoxx was the peak of BL fun in the franchise. BL2 was a disappointment and I felt like the humor felt flat and uninteresting. I finished BL2 and one or two DLC, but haven't finished PS. I don't really feel the need to finish it.

I'm kind of with you there. Though I did find the Roland/Lillith interactions super fun in BL2. I felt like a lot of the humor in 2 was super miss and miss and the overall story kind of interesting and then not. I dunno I'm excited that Mikey is writing again I think he did BL1, but I fear they'll want to top BL2's sense of humor and I don't think that's a good idea.

Pre sequel is horrid. Terrible maps ,bad single player difficulty, no farmable bosses. The only good stuff was the claptrap dlc and that was made by gearbox

2 has issues that they've mostly fixed since release outside of uvhm balnce. Oranges actually drop now for example

They made bosses farmable in TPS, I thought? In a patch?

Anyway, other than the level design, I think I might actually prefer TPS to BL2. I like the character's playstyles more, and the loot felt a lot better and more varied and interesting.
