Rise of the Ferrous Horde [SE++ WoW] Lorahalo is the Best!
not only is hellfire bad on its own merits, but it's got to be one of the single worst zones for ganking in the entire game
I got ganked more in Hyjal than Hellfire.
Thrallmar is pretty much the worst place to be low level in Outland.
Hyjal's kind of bad too, sometimes; Particularly in that one Firelands bit where you're killing Dark Iron Dwarves and collecting fiery cores.
It's still far preferable to dungeon leveling through cata, however. Going from 80-90 via dungeons is extremely difficult to do in a reasonable time frame. You also make far less gold, in the process.
I think it's something to do with class balancing, and how tank specs stop putting out insane damage, which causes group DPS to take a nosedive.
All I Know for sure, after leveling a panda warrior recently, is that prot was by far the best spec for doing damage until the 80s. For a long time I was easily doing more damage than 2-3 of the DPS in my party.
Full set of of heirlooms with max level enchants helped with that, I'm sure. :P
Silverpine and Hillsbrad are exceptional now. Silverpine has a whole quest line where you help the Forsaken invasion of Gilneas. It's pretty cool.
Hillsbrad has the quest-giver story, which is fantastic.
Yeah, I absolutely love the changes they made to many of the vanilla zones.
The only downside is that the heirlooms are too good to resist, so I breeze through the vanilla zones so fast that it's not worth going through them. :P
Honestly none of the options are super appealing in this xpac because even with timeless isle the gearing rate for new alts is fucking glacial. LFR drop rates are better than when they were when current but I'm not going to run 5+ LFRs a week to gear.

Monk is really great. The one and only reason I even quit playing was because it was incompatible with my work schedule (getting up at 4:30-5:00AM generally doesn't gel with WoW).
I don't know how much I would enjoy it on the non-panda races, the animation really sells it. The Undead Monk animations are pretty great though...
To contrast, I spent last night doing about 7 mop heroics with my holy pally set in an hour and a half. Group of randos got the scholo split-lady cheev just from our lock in flex gear doing 300k burst damage and killing her before she split.
And honestly, it was a lot more fun than dragon soul geared healing heroic grim batol and still wiping. I'll take mop level challenge over that any day.
i did two cata normals last month and they both ended in deserter. you need a tank who knows every encounter and at least two competent DPS to have hope
i was healing that one boss where you have to pull him through the lava to melt his armor, it took four minutes for me to remember that. apparently none of the four people doing damage noticed their attacks hitting for 5 damage.
i would appreciate cata heroic difficulty if the value system made sense. it's pretty dumb that heroics get you crap blues and JP to buy bottom tier epics, but 5 minutes on timeless isle gets you half a set of solid LFR epics
I'd be okay with hard heroic dungeons if they were totally optional
Cataclysm is a terrible model
Seriously, running grim batol in dungeon finder was like pulling teeth
At least blazing through Gate in 10 minutes is super funny, if no challenging.
I was excited about "elite difficulty" in Cata until I remembered that LFD was a great way to do content and I didn't want to always have to run with guildies to have a good experience playing the game socially.
I'm pretty sure @RockLobster can solo any heroic MOP dungeon on Havalina. I've done a couple heroics with him as a healer and I will wholly admit I had absolutely nothing to do.
finally a decent tanking sword.. now expertise and hit capped. I do a lot of damage as prot... 65k single target prior to my new sword, so that was like... IL 498 or something
not a lot of tanks in LFR get that high. I am guessing it's because they don't touch Expertise at all.
back from paris and transferred my hunter and DK over last night. i forgot that i would have to redo all of the faction quests, so now i am doing the opening quests for panderia. at least it isnt tedious, and it gives me a chance to jog my memory when it comes to rotation and shit.
now for my favorite part of playing WoW, fixing my UI since it broke with 5.4
Hmm, I'm thinking of getting back into wow and none of my friends play anymore, so I might start up a character with you guys
Now, to choose between DK for the higher start, monk for faster levelling (though not having my heirlooms will suck) or $55 for a faction + server change. Though I've never done a horde-side character before, so that might be cool
Also, due to some recent stupid drama with my guild, I've decided to go with a good friend of mine and joined another guild and jumped ship with them to Thrall.
Limitless was a lot of fun for a good while, but apparently I was oblivious to stuff I was doing that was annoying a growing number of people, but they didn't really go much trouble to bring it to my attention until the GM went completely batshit.
Elysee can be a lot of fun, but she's not really any good at managing a guild, and the lady is fucking nuts if you get on her bad side. There was just no talking to her. She seriously burned me at the end, and it still hurts to think about, because I had so many friends and I really thought of them (her included) like a second family.

I need to get on that
I may have teared up a bit at the last quest.

I'm probably going to boost a rogue, because rogues are neat. I have a monk at level 70 that should I finish levelling though.
I just
don't wanna level them
Or my rogue

I thought that quest was lame
then it followed up

we also talk about other random shit and clown upon each other

but honestly I'd rather they not try and fail so I'll stick with mop heroics

Then imagine Alendra doing one...

You eventually sorta get used to it.
why are you not fast
edit: nevermind your avatar came back again
Dang and here I am playing the bongos
Unless there is an extremely small chance he wants to spend the night in playing dark souls and drinking, in which case I will be there

Yup!

We have a good number of dks but not many monks, but really play what you'll enjoy most.
if that raven flight mount posted up on mmo-champ is a store thing I might actually be buying a mount from the store for the first time in aaaages.
They've always been cross faction, or have been since I've been using them.
I've sent them between horde and alliance alts for a while now.

Alas. Life goes on. Drama in video games, etc.
