i'd like to thank you for the warning so i could cancel the install
I do, and while I'd have to go back to my PS3 and play the first Rocksmith to compare, I'm pretty sure I like Rocksmith 2014 better.
However there are some times when it doesn't properly register that I'm playing a note and it frustrates me to no end. It could be a number of causes: my guitar (unlikely), the Rocksmith cable (more likely), or computer latency (most likely), but it hasn't stopped me from reaching 60% mastery of Everlong.
Speaking of song choices, you get a mixed bag of about 30 (?) to start, and then there's the Ubisoft download library which...isn't very good. So odds are more likely that you won't find that one song from the radio that you've always wanted to play.
Final note: I have not tried playing it with speakers since the original Rocksmith on PS3 which had awful latency issues (something like a 50ms delay between playing the note and hearing it which was absolutely maddening), but it sounds good in Rocksmith 2014 on PC using headphones.
I had to turn it from the default -6.5 decibels to +7 and turn the volume and gain up on my guitar to get it to pick up every note correctly and actually sound out through the game. I also had it it detecting that I played the note correctly when I had accidentally played fret four or even five instead of three for example, but now it works right.
Apparently this version is missing the entire soundtrack
Music and voices
And it's not a bug, it's intentional
I saw that and a lot of people were rather outraged to mouthy about it

No it wasn't, and it's been fixed now.
Might be kinda cool? I'm more interested in visual novels for writing quality than gameplay though, but the amount of ones out there which actually have shit for that in the least is incredibly small, so at this point I'll give anything a shot as long as it isn't immediately and obviously offensive or shallow on some basic level. (also a thing which is rather rare)
i'm fucking IN
kisida's stuff is fun
I wouldn't worry about the writing, I've been reading the official translated novels of Spice & Wolf, it's a legit good Fantasy story with some amazing dialogue and this dude can make economics actually interesting to someone like me, who had no interest in it before.
It's the most un-anime light novel I've ever read.

Hmm...I don't know what exactly is HD about this, but I guess I can finally see the content they added in the non-GC releases
Resolution (1080p) and widescreen updates, up-rezzed textures, anti-aliasing, 60 fps.
Get the cheap cable.
There's conflicting reports. When my official cable wasn't working and I was googling around there's a tonne of people saying that cheap versions aren't supported and don't work, and then a tonne of people saying that they work just fine.
I got the boxed copy and don't have any alternative, so I can't really comment, but even with the official cable I had to eventually plug it into a powered USB3 port directly on my motherboard instead of trying to plug it into a port split off through a header so that might be the problem that people with non-official cables are having.
More than worth it, if you haven't picked it up yet. Quite the fun lil' game
it'll probably only last another couple days but what are some decent quality of life mods
especially: something to let me make bows and arrows
Well, arrows anyway
Maybe it's a DLC thing
I won't let it be said that I left ya with nothin', Bob.
I would just hop into the top rated of all time mods and pick up whatever takes your fancy. Arrowsmith is among them.
I only use the steam workshop for mods so there might be better ones on the skyrim nexus, but I recommend:
Graphics: Enhanced Distant Terrain is a must, it really sharpens the wide open landscapes and I think is fairly light on system requirements. Lush Greens if your computer can handle it (mostly fine but can be super graphics intensive in places), Pure Waters, Improved Interior Lighting.
Gameplay: Lightweight Potions and Ingredients is great because you just end up with a shitload of potions and ingredients that really add up to a lot weight in your inventory. Continuous Explore Music eliminates the random music silences that sometimes happen.
Fun stuff: Dovahbit of Caerbannog is the best follower and I won't take any arguments.
New radio station mods, with fuckin' Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis and shit! A draw distance so insanely far that taking a walk with Boone results in non-stop dinging of experience from enemies I never even saw! Blink-and-miss-em load times! Quick save!
I didn't pick up any of the DLC back when I played on the console, for reasons that currently escape me, but I just did Honest Hearts and it wasn't half bad. Turning to Utah history, and the tumultuous, murderous relationship between the native tribes and the Mormons for inspiration? Bold fuckin' move. I don't think the attempt was entirely successful (Oh, hooray, white savior(s) narrative. Oh, hooray, a medicine man giving a drugged out spirit quest. Siiiiiiiiiiigh.), but it was still an unexpected, interesting angle. And the piece was meaty. Four or five hours, easy, with a big ol' map and some absolutely gorgeous scenery. Stoked to see more.
Of course, it had the same amusingly game-breaking problem of the Fallout 3 DLC - gear that's astonishingly overpowered for the main campaign. You know how the casinos take away all but your "holdout weapons?" Turns out, the DLC weapons count as holdouts. So the doorman at Gomorrah takes my shitty little 9mm pistol, but lets me keep a gun called A Light Shining in Darkness and a glove called Salt-Upon-Wounds Power Fist. Crackerjack security ya got there, guys.
There's even a few things I think NV does better, like the latter's survival mode. Having to hoard clean water and obsessively hunting for radiation-free food does wonders for immersion. And NV's world/characters are infinitely more appealing to me, but that's just personal taste.
That one was some dogshit, yeah
The one where Liberty Prime wrecks some shit was pretty dope, though

Oh this is a good idea
Which means I need to finally figure out where the steam workshop actually is on steam
probably just some heading on the store page I never actually looked at before
I rarely ever get DLC, but I picked up the whole set for New Vegas when it went on steam sale awhile back. It was a really good decision in retrospect because they were wonderful, particularly Old World Blues.
My main issue with the Operation Anchorage DLC is that you could do it early on in the game and at the end you get
