Video display problems

Lately whenever it seems after I play any game on my pc like Supreme Commander or even WoW, when I go watch any kind of video (except quicktime it seems) all the colors are inverted. I tried downloading new codecs and updating direct X. No dice. I noticed if I reboot my pc and watch any video it does work fine though.

So anyone have any ideas?

this probably sounds weird but this could be a problem of too many codecs. Try uninstalling any that you have installed and open something that was inverted before (after playing WoW). then if that fixes it, evaluate which codecs you really need and install the minumum.

What type of video card do you have? I have a similar problem with my NVidia Geforce 6800. I usually fix it by going to Display Settings -> Advanced, then messing with the overlay settings. Usually it switches to standard mode instead of Advanced which tends to mess up any videos being played.

If you don't have an NVidia card then check the overlay settings anyways and see if changing the settings fixes things up.
