[MTG] Pack Rat Fever (BOTG Sealed League, see pg 20)
Dack fayden is going to be a planeswalker in conspiracy and he's being pushed for legacy and vintage play.
Which means they're going to try and make him just a little broken (because that's the only way to make a splash in vintage) which means he'll be busted as all hell.

Or they'll swing and miss.
Also possible. But better to swing for the fences, I think.

I think Master of the Feast will have to wait until Desecration Demon rotates before people even consider playing him. Unless someone makes a weird Fate Unraveler deck or something.
Master of the Feast... hard to say, but three drop and 5/5 flying and double black... could replace DDemon for Monoblack devotion post rotation? I mean sure there's a drawback, but 5/5 flying for THREE
like when i think "She bears a potion cup from which she dispenses draughts that simultaneously strengthen her servants and slay her enemies." i don't think "she turns dead things into poisonous snakes"
kind of falls flat from the lore buildup to me

I'm most interested in that Flamespeaker. Potentially two extra cards per turn in a red aggro deck? Yes please.
though i suppose the snakes trigger constellation?

Such a shame all the multi-color gods in my current EDH deck colors aren't really that great for what my EDH decks do. I have Karametra in my trostani deck but haven't been playing much so she's still unproven.
I was really hoping for something really good for Pharika.
It'll be interesting to see is Standard embraces him. As much as your opponent drawing an extra card is painful, a 5/5 flyer on turn 3 that plays real well with Gary is pretty sick .
I think he sees play for sure once lifebane zombie and DDemon rotate for sure. Might even before that.

master of feasts is another card going into the new meta-shifting Notion Thief deck that no one will ever make
I think Pharika definitely has some potential in the current standard GB deck. GB has a lot of heavy mana costs --all of its main threats have double coloured mana costs, plus Jarad who almost turns her on by himself-- so she can be a creature fairly often. I also think people overestimate the importance of keeping every single creature in your graveyard all game.
Also interested in that demon in the pseudo-"Owling Mine" standard deck I've been trying to brew with the new spoilers. Should be good in Mono black aggro too.

they dont get extra cards till your upkeep so they still have to deal with it for a turn before seeing any benefit
and they have no say in its ability to attack or block
this is a good card especially when one can go feast > double Ds > merchant make it rain consecutively

the problem with pharika is she has only one ability and you have to pay mana to activate it
the clearly greatest tragedy is that pharika has almost no synergy with gorgon tribal other than they turn her devotion on
That's weird because I just re-read it and i think the greatest tragedy is that you don't get the snake token when exiling stuff from an opponent's graveyard

I'm willing to pay 2 mana to make a guy that blanks my opponents Polukranos or gives me a throwaway body to bestow my Nighthowler/Herald of Torment on. I think it's definitely going to be playable but we'll see.
Pharika being unable to use your opponent's dead creatures to make snakes for you that can chump block and kill more of their guys so you can make more snakes seems like an odd decision
I have to assume they tried it the other way and it tested too powerful?
Flamespeaker looks very good to me, but I'm hoping people underestimate it because a 1/3 for 3 is not something red wants to be doing. It has the potential to be a nice sleeper.

I'll take it.
Pharika sort of works against the current Dredge deck though.

Pharika seems... lame.
Twinflame seems pretty cool

Thanks for the cards, dude.
Make...
Snakes.
It says "play" NOT "cast"
So you can grab lands (assuming you have not already played a land).
This card could end up being real good.
This set is pretty exciting except for Pharika!
