I think Pharika definitely has some potential in the current standard GB deck. GB has a lot of heavy mana costs --all of its main threats have double coloured mana costs, plus Jarad who almost turns her on by himself-- so she can be a creature fairly often. I also think people overestimate the importance of keeping every single creature in your graveyard all game.
Also interested in that demon in the pseudo-"Owling Mine" standard deck I've been trying to brew with the new spoilers. Should be good in Mono black aggro too.
the problem with pharika is she has only one ability and you have to pay mana to activate it
I'm willing to pay 2 mana to make a guy that blanks my opponents Polukranos or gives me a throwaway body to bestow my Nighthowler/Herald of Torment on. I think it's definitely going to be playable but we'll see.
meanwhile your opponent gets a free draw or lightning bolt, or their creatures go into their hand instead of the graveyard, or they have a hojillion mana, or their dudes are harder to block and take no damage when attacking
pharika may not be terrible in a vacuum, but she is boring as shit compared to the other gods in this set

so if flamespeaker jumps in there without being blocked do you exile two cards? I'm dumb and forget if double strike works differently with some things

no she's still pretty bad when you think about the current GB dredge deck. Maybe she gets better if reanimator becomes a thing while Scooze rotates out
"Oh, you virdict'd my dudes? That's chill. Let me get them back for a minute so you can't attack."
"Oh, that sure was a fancy combat trick you did. And good on you for hitting me so hard. Sure would be annoying if I pulled back 4 deathtouch dudes to kill all your dudes OH WAIT THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT'S HAPPENING."

pharika's cure is where the real pharika flavor is
pharika the god is the crazy snake lady who yells at the other gods outside the nyx train station

in what world are you sitting on 8 untapped mana during your opponent's turn?

In the same world we use for all examples. The game where everything is going your way all the time.
How else would we decide between "Good" and "Bad" cards?
also Iroas renders all those snakes completely useless as blockers
Playing fast and loose with the word "completely" there... Blocking a guy, even if you don't kill him, is still blocking him. This concept is known as the "chump" blocker. I thought this was obvious. My b.
pharika is boring as dick and she can only pull from your graveyard
also I have no idea if you're serious about necrogenesis cause that seems boring also, but at least it can use the opponent's yard
I do think this was a glaring oversight. It seems like a really unnecessary restriction.
It has to be the death touch on the snakes
If they were dead set on the snake thing (which I guess they were stuck with since the good G/B effects and the flavorful pharika effects are already on other cards) they should have gone the other way and given the snakes lifelink in addition to deathtouch
edit yes i think this is the perfect solution best compromise in a bunch of ways

the problem is justifying the flavor of snakes having lifelink in that scenario

People like to forget that.
(My wife plays a fucking brutal Deathtouch deck, ya'll seem to be missing how insanely annoying that ability is)

i dunno it seems really easy to get rid of things with 1 toughness or a bunch of things with the same name in this format (lookin at u, bile blight)

and if you go up against that one black player who is unnaturally afraid of selesnya and has illness in the ranks in his sideboard
in what world are you sitting on 8 untapped mana during your opponent's turn?
