What can I take on a airplane?

I haven't flown in about 10 years, and don't remember much about it. With all the headlines about airport security on the news, I was hoping someone could tell me as far as electronics go, what you're allowed to bring on with you. It's a 2 and a half hour flight so I was thinking of bringing my DS/PSP with me. What about cell phones? Are you allowed to have those on you?

"My God, The plane is falling downwards like a Tetris Block!!!!"

iirc, you can take whatever you want, as long as you are subtle using it

As of the last time I flew (roughly a year ago) cell phone and DS was okay. You're just not allowed to have them on during take-off or landing. I imagine a PSP would be allowed, too.

    Laptops were okay, as well.

This is important to remember if you don't want to die.

I was just on a flight last month, and bringing/using my PSP was no problem at all. No worries, enjoy the flight. :)

Cellphones-off for the duration of the flight.

    Handhelds-off during takeoff and landing.

Laptops I think are the same as handhelds.

note that you cannot take your DS/PSP on the flight if it is filled with more than 3oz of fluids or gels. Just, y'know, keep that in mind.

    Otherwise it's all fair game.

Also, as you are heading toward the metal detector remember to look at the glass case displaying items that you can't take on your flight.

You may not take your chainsaw with you for instance.

Nor can you take your tasers or stunguns. I know how you probably had your heart set on that, too.

In all seriousness, check the website for your airline. They usually have a pretty comprehensive list of what can/can't go. As for electronic devices, for the most part they're ok, you just can't have them on during takeoff/landing/taxi. Flight attendants announce during flight when you can have them on. But you're also not allowed to have anything broadcasting, so no wireless multiplayer and your cellphone needs to be off until you're off the plane.

I actually had a makeshift bayonet that consisted of a chainsaw strapped to a shotgun. Suffice to say, I was very sad when I realized I couldn't bring it with me.
