[Wrestling Thread] Daniel Bryan vs. the Seven Evil Ex-Champions
I think the build to a Cena/Wyatt match could be pretty good, and it makes a lot of sense for Wyatt's character to go there. I'm...more worried that they'll activate Super Cena and blow up Bray Wyatt, and then...where does Bray Wyatt go from there? Honestly, where does he go if they take out Cena?
I suppose I'll just...try not to worry about it too much.
He turns his back on Luke Harper for costing him everything and his most ardent disciple goes on the fucking warpath and I lose my mind
I think Daniel Bryan may wind up being Mister Summerslam if he wins the belt there this year (likely)
All things considered, this is my prediction as well
He silences the Authority at 'Mania, cementing himself as a champion (because HHH said he only wrestles superstars and Bryan wrestling him is an admission of that), and goes on to win clean at SummerSlam.
Don't worry, this important story-developing challenge happened on the app
its almost like they're trying to give you a reason to use their app
Yep.
Just like Tout. And a million other things that were unsuccessful and flatlined.
This is the stupidest argument. "This thing failed lets never try new things again."
While I agree with you in principle, I do have to say...in VInce's case...with his track record, maybe he shouldn't try new things. That is how we end up with XFL, Direct to DVD movies, The aforementioned Tout and so on and so on.
Its also how we ended up with Wrestlemania, PPVs, the Attitude era, and the WWE Network to name a few things.

Why in the world is JBL complaining about *Christian's* skin tone? Has he seen the guy Christian is wrestling?

The biggest problems with HHH revolve around the idea that he books himself too strongly. Those aren't necessarily unfair, but recent history doesn't really support it so much.
Things like HHH vs CM Punk are what leave me no faith in HHH doing what's right.

Do you have to be negative about absolutely everything or is that just exclusive to what you talk about here
There are good uses for the app. Possibly teasing one of the biggest matches of the biggest PPV you have exclusively on a format millions of your main viewers don't have and could miss isn't one of them.
If you're going to have an app that you're trying to sell as a big deal, then the best way to do that is to put important stuff on it from time to time. Otherwise it's worthless.
Also, considering the fact that they've built quite an install base already with the app, and that's before the network even came about as being built into it, I'd say you're grossly underestimating its usage. Just because its not used by you does not mean its not used period.
The commentary seems especially bad tonight. JBL is just going off on crazy shit and it's infuriating. At least if they were shilling the Network instead of calling the match I'd understand, but I have no clue what the fuck they are doing.

Those are all wrestling things...I was more making a joke about how Vince tends to fare when he strays from his sweet spot. I didn't realize everyone was already salty with Sweeny for previous infractions...hehehe

The app is also a wrestling thing. But yeah, non wrestling things have not been completely successful for Vince, but that still doesn't mean stop trying. Nobody should ever stop trying new things.

To give Vince credit, at least his failures aren't due to half-assing it. And I have way more faith in the WWE App (especially if it's going to be used in conjunction with the Network) then those other things.

Christian begging at the crowd and barely getting a response.
I don't think they're underused, I just don't know what happens after they take out the top dog. Does he...try to take over the whole company?
I mean, they were willing to book them in a heel/heel match before, I could buy throwing them against HHH and the Authority, especially if they were weakened after a crushing defeat by Daniel Bryan.
But I see your point, unless they want another Ministry of Darkness (amazing build with zero payoff), they really need an endgame in mind for Bray Wyatt.

Bray will lose everything, suffer a crisis of faith and just become a stone cold bad ass going forward with call backs aplenty to his past self along the way.
Wait, no, sorry that's Boyd Crowder from Justified.

Christian is one of those guys that can get a crowd into a match almost in spite of themselves. He knows how to tell a story in the ring, and he knows what will work to get the crowd to react. He might not always have the most interesting storylines, and while he's pretty good in the ring, nobody's ever going to convince anyone that he's an all time great technician. But he knows what he's doing.

That match was pretty great.
I will continue to sigh over Christian being one of the most underappreciated wrestlers of his era.

If I were a wrestling commentator from the 80's I would describe him as a "ring general".
