Preorder bonuses are getting even stupider.

Like, so, for the D3 expansion, you get some fiery wings and a HotS character if you preorder. Nothing to big, but I'm preordering anyways so I'd probably use the wings at least.

But instead of just shipping a code, you have to register the games cd key by March 31st to get the preorder crap. This sucks for me since I live in a shipping black hole where stuff from Amazon can randomly take over a week to actually get here, and that's when it's shipped on time. Getting it in less than a week is probably not going to happen.

Why the fuck isn't this just a separate code that gets e-mailed?

I guess my option now is to pay out the ass for fast shipping (which isn't fast here) to get my "free" preorder bonuses. :p

So, Alien: Isolation might actually be bad
Tension gone, replaced only with frustration. I wasn’t the only one — I spoke to another journalist who flat-out quit the demo, he was so tired of dying in the last bit.

    ...

It’s like making a horror game starring Levar Burton.

    ...

You can’t kill the alien, but you will have to fight an assortment of robots and other dumb bullshit because of course this is a video game and video games have to have combat.

So Twitch has started playing Pokemon Emerald. From what I can tell they picked Treecko but accidentally soft resetted so now they have a Torchic.

My and my brother rented Diablo 3 and did local co-op through the whole campaign, it was pretty great.

Which reminds me of a story. My one friend got home on leave from Iraq the week that RE5 came out. I actually picked up my copy on the way home from picking him up at the airport. Shit happened, and basically all his plans for the next week went up in smoke. So I say "hey, why not come out and we'll play RE5". Over the course of the next few days, my brother, him, and I beat RE5 at least 7 times. Even did a Professional mode run. That game got its hooks in us something fierce. We unlocked everything, all the guns, all the costumes. It was great, we played that thing for 12 hours straight a couple of times. None of us have ever touched the game again after that week.

So even though RE5 is super flawed, I still really love that game.

Apparently they soft reset like 6 times

And this will probably be the last one, seeing how you can't emulate DS games (as far as I know)

    I played through Colonial Marines.

Whatever they're doing with Isolation cannot be as bad. I'll take a few frustrating deaths if it means a generally well-done survival horror game that appears to be trying its best to do right by the franchise.

Considering how they described the way the xenomorph moves around the level and the relative weakness of the player-character, this is not surprising to me at all.

I just got back from my first con

    Literally hundreds of Homestuck cosplayers

Literally hundreds of Attack on Titan cosplayers

I don't have anything against either of these things personally but all that went through my head was "man, the GB thread would sure hate this place"

It was fun though, saw some rad cosplay and I got to meet Stan Lee so hey

Were you at MegaCon? Cause I just got back from that.

To be fair, this is most likely largely because a homestuck cosplay is as easy as buying a t-shirt.

This is a pretty good point, actually.

Homestuck cosplay tends to be a lot easier than, say, recreating Lulu's belt-dress.

I'm pretty sure recreating that dress qualifies you for some kind of honorary engineering degree.
