This week's event will be the End of Summer event, where we'll be retiring Conch Shells and Hot Dogs. The new format has increased drops for the items and a hot dog piece will always drop with a Conch Shell so that you never felt like you missed one for the other.
For those asking, Operation Omega is planned to return next week at this time.
I'm guessing Cyclops is going to get the summons in his leadership tree to fill it in. I guess it's too much to hope they would ditch his punching tree for it.

They are sticking with the melee tree because of reasons...mostly Punch-Clops.
I think a good close to mid range tree could be created buuuuut we shall see. You know how EMF hits enemies in a small PBAoE off of Silver Surfer? I would love to see a channeled optic blast where Cyclops stops the beam for a second to do a spin kick/sweep when enemies get within his PBAoE bubble. How about a jumping melee uppercut where Scott blasts the fallen enemy before landing? A slide tackle that ends in a cone short range blast would be awesome as well. Clearly it can work but I think an optic animation needs to be mixed into the melee abilities to make it believable.
Change every character to be more like they are in the Marvel vs Capcom games. Except Gambit because he was pretty garbage if I remember rightly.
Also give me playable Sabertooth and Spiral.
The current melee tree is both dumb and garbage. It's like if they gave Wolverine a kick tree. Yeah, he has feet and I'm sure he's kicked someone before, but how is that a remotely defining trait worthy of an entire tree? And then refuse to get rid of it because of a dumb forum in-joke that you've already giving a unique for (and it's the only character specific unique for that slot for who knows?).

Conch Shells and Hot Dog ingredients have returned and can drop from any enemy! When a Conch Shell drops, a hot dog ingredient will drop every time to insure that players are earning each of them at a steady rate.
Beast, the Special Event Vendor, has brought back 4 very awesome Summer items which can be bought in exchange for Conch Shells:
The Perfect Wave - A Slot 3 Unique item that provides a high level of survivability and utility.
Brutally Awesome Shades - Slot 5 Unique sunglasses that are simply brutal.
The Big Kahuna - An awesome Legendary with a Summer Beach Party twist.
Mysterious Crimson Box - Contains a random boss-specific artifact.
We're also bringing back the Beach Party Fortune Card!
Here's a list of some bugs that should be fixed in this patch:
Emma Frost's Sudden Dread will now correctly gain bonuses from items that affect Damage Over Time powers.
A.I.M. Specialists and Maggia have been restored to their respective places in Midtown Patrol.
Items obtained from Odin’s Bounty Chests will now always be the correct level.
The all chat channel should properly display messages that go in "All" channel (rather than clearing history).
Shared Quests will now correctly save progress between region changing.
Player off-screen arrows will no longer stick around or become invalid entities.
King Thor Team-Up token can now be sold for 50,000 credits. He can no longer be traded for a Unique at this time.
Black Panther should no longer be broken out of stealth when enemies walk into his Jungle Snare
Players that rolled “+2 Damage Rating to Area Powers” on their Cybernetic item will have this replaced with a random unlocked affix.
With all the new enemies, missions and environment features, it's one of the most complicated zones we've laucnhed.
Please post ANY feedback you have (bugs, tuning, clarity, environment) in this thread, so we can make any needed adjustments and fixes as soon as possible.
Whenever possible, screenshots and videos are very helpful.

The boss artifacts (and uniques) are not implemented yet, but they all drop their medallions.
Yeah, I'm not sure I'm going to bother going for a crimson box this event. If the timer is every 2 minutes, and they replaced the double drops with a stupid worthless hotdog instead, that's 30 an hour, or 10 hours of actual gameplay to get one.
Ran Midtown, doing nothing but mob killing and got 11 shells in exactly 30 minutes (waited until 30 minutes ran off the boost). So roughly 3 minutes per shell.

as a Euro player I am pretty used to any game servers being down during prime time. twice a week is a bit much I have to say.

Also all the feedback on the MH forums point to be Bronx Zoo being the hardest content in the game. Bring on the challenge!

Popped boosts and got my SIF to 245%.

900 minutes for 300 shells, or 15 hours.
It was fun, though. Really nice level and monster design. Much, much better than the Man-Ape one-shot.
