[minecraft] Terrible graphics, terrible OP, awesome game
Posts
Basically, its like..minecraft, but realism. Not compatable with other mods, but you start ou gathering pebbles from the ground to knap them into basic stone tools, and you cant build a basic dirt house without crafting supports cause almost every block type respects gravity and fall/collapse .
Basically, Your erebor as it is now, if it were transposed into TFC, would just collapse into a rubble pit.
Also I got a underwater road from the swamp to the first island up and running..sponges are temporarily holding the water back until my smeltery autoglass production produces enough to begin sealing it up.
TFC: That sounds crazy painful, but would be less so and more fun in a server setting.
Related to the road: Oh my god that is fantastic. I think I might try and do an Atlantis type build eventually.
I also kind of want to do another upsidedown castle, but I don't think that would work without underdark. Or a floating island...
And it's mostly accurate, in that TFC is a hardcore version of Minecraft.
Everything is more realistic, takes longer to achieve and is generally harder.
No more punching tress, basically.
...why not Agrarian Skies?

Get HQM set up. This is going to take a really long time because I want to use it to give a rundown on all the mod/server basics and to give pointers about common stuff
Fix up the airship. I intend for it to stick around for a while.
Get all ComputerCrafty and develop an in-game notice board for the portal room.
Develop a ComputerCraft based energy->matter replicator. You insert energy (and maybe for some stuff, items as well), you use it to buy stuff.
Consider implementing a block logging plugin (this may involve a MySQL install on the server)
Get a basic webpage setup on the server to shove setup instructions so that the forum link to the server can just be http://pa-moskau.net/
DynMap config
and playing the darn game is somewhere in there...
Nope. I'd rather fork out another $13 a month, then figure out how to string two servers together (again) and have a dedicated server instance with a different mod pack loadout for AS in addition to the main instance.
If the airship is sticking around, then you can take your time on it.
Also, please stop for like 2 weeks and just play the damn game!
Basically, it's probably the best implemented quest mod I've seen so far and it's fairly intuitive to follow. I'm intending on using it to introduce people to most/all the mods in the pack in a self-paced way and it gives me a way to ease people into the server with freebies and walkthroughs without using a central repository and relying on an honour system.
It's got provisions for Hardcore mode (multiple lives) but those aren't going to be used obviously.
@Radiation the first, and shortest, undersea road is 99% completed..but its taken almosta n entire diamond chest of tico glass to seal up. I am truly terrified of the resources I am soon to be consuming when I have to jump across the central ocean to Fighting_Masheen's house.
It'll be better off playing Starbound in that case with TerraFirmaCraft being such a radical change from Minecraft. The only commonality is the graphics/world engine, and that's a horrible thing to have in common.
You may want to contemplate using Quartz glass instead. It has the multi-block textures like clear glass and doesn't require cooking in a smelter so it's a lot easier to set up a mass parallel production line for it. However, the materials cost is a little bit more complex than clear glass...
Also I really like tico clear glass because it is basically an empty texture.
I'm sorry that's happening Jack, hopefully it can get resolved and you can start playing again!
Doesn't work. power meter is literally off the screen every time, only way to get it down is to put it on in water and die 2-4 times before it gets below the threshold. Unless you can pop creative or something.
The latter is the only way I got starvalds power armor cooled off, then I went back survival and gave him the armor and half of it vanished from the world.
Is there anything indicating a lead up to it?
I'll have to dig around and see if there are other reports of it. In the meantime, oooops, my finger slipped and I added two zeros to the base heat caps and additional heat for the heat sinks. Let's see if that helps. Note that this will only help with the heat values going off the chart, it ain't going to help you self-immolating from the heat.
The active cooler has had the same exponential increase, and associated energy usage change. I do fully understand that this does mean heat is going to be a non-issue under normal situations now, but until I get more research done, consider this as a stop-gap
Also I finished the first segment of the underwater road, its going to cut east form roughly where I laid out the slab blocks, then head straight south, under the ocean, to Fighting_Masheen's house.
Then from there its going to turn east again and hit Gins island.
By the time this is done maybe you'll finish the southern exit to erebor so I can finally build to botz
Base heat capacity has been raised from 50 to 50,000
The cooling module's effectiveness has been raised to 1,000% of base. Energy usage remains at base
Basically, I'm telling everyone using a powersuit to install an active cooling module and use it until I find out if this heat spike is a MCPC incompatibility symptom. This change may become permanent.

Ok, I'll add a few more zeros for the cooling system.
The active cooler is now at 4,000,000 whatever up from 40, which is the default. This represents a 100,000x multiplier compared to the original value
HOPEFULLY this will remove the chance that a heat spike will instantly kill you. No guarantees though.
If so are there airships in there or not? I cant seem to internet up a solid answer.....
I've had trouble with that before. Seems like it doesn't play well with some pumps. I've had success before with using golems to bucket the source into a tank or liquid node.
Yeap. I'm looking forward to it.
Or use Extra Utilities Liquids transport nodes and pipes
If you don't have the thaumcraft chops to do golems, let me know and I can make one for you..but I'll need a couple blocks of rotten flesh
Ok @Takel ... Im calling your bluff....
if its conservative show me the crazy train to crazy town. Im ready. what should i use?
That way be dragons, my boy. That way be dragons.
Which sounds amazing.
Well you may not remember that I told you, but at least you remember what I say.
I was pretty sure it was you, but didn't want to @ you and then be wrong.
I'd have to build a Berk, if we had that on a server.
