No I did my American accent for you that was enough, no one did a British one in return.
I was in an improv troupe for a while that did educational skits for kids, and one of my recurring roles was as the "Skit Policeman" who would intervene when things got too silly
I've been told my British accent there was particularly impressive

Ok, I have detergent for laundry, clothing/bedding only. I have my shower stuff, which is obviously not the same as what is used on dishes. Dish soap is usually harsher and has grease dissolving agents. Some brands make a more gentle version so they can advertise it as "dual purpose-Also for hands!" but it will still dry your skin. It's for dirty dishes. It is dish soap.

I guess it's just referring to an item by the act it is used for, washing something, so washing up, against a naming convention that relies on the specific purpose of the soap type.

I know what dish soap is. I am not arguing that dish soap is not a thing.
You said the term washing up liquid "gets" you. I'm just saying... That's a valid term for liquid you wash up with.

I always thought it was interesting that sometimes people call things by their brand name and not what they are.
Like tylenol instead of pain killers. Coke instead of pop.

And with Irish Spring body wash.
It is, but that makes me think of laundry soap.

do people say Tylenol for anything besides acetaminophen? I've never heard it used as a catch-all for pain-killers before.

They're way better than trash-co brand
Weaver would then probably complain we aren't calling it alpining or something.
