If there's one thing that's not subjective in this world, it's art.
And the best artist is Michael Turner. He is the
best artist.
Someone honestly try to make an argument that Justice League of America issue 4 does not have the
best cover art in comics
history. The way that Starro is drawn in such a way that it almost looks like an indigo shit smeared across the paper speaks to the multi-faceted talent that is Turner. Always one to experiment with his craft, it is clear that unlike any artist, he can create works of beauty by merely taping a crayon to a piece of clay plugged firmly into his asshole. Jack Kirby, generally considered a talentless hack with no measure of importance on the history of comic art, would've done well to study his superior contemporary. It is no wonder that he's dead.
Perhaps the best part about Michael Turner is the symbolism present in his work. Always one to comment on social matters, every single one of his men are drawn with the same taut, muscular body type and face, whilst his women are all anorexic breast monsters with googly eyes. It's a commentary on the conformity of society.
Their torsos are miles long. Like Turner's
soul.
OH BABY, NAMOR.
Let us all praise Michael Turner.
Together. After all, today is the day of his rising.
