Troubles drawing me, journal comic tips

I've been wanting to draw a webcomic for the last few years now. The comics I tend to gravitate towards are usually journal comics, I really enjoy the idea of connecting with someone through a comic. I also feel it will help as an outlet for me. Problem is I'm not very good at figure drawing yet, another reason to draw these comics. Grow WITH the comic, skills and personal growth.

So here's the question, does anyone have suggestions or resources for drawing cartoon anatomy? When I google figure drawing or cartooning all I get is real life/still life drawings.

Also, is there anyone out there who would have suggestions on writing, drawing a journal comic?

Have you drawn anything? Without examples, it's hard to know where you stand, you might get some generic advice otherwise.
