Handheld game discussion (Don't take away my game cartridge!)

Well Pax is less than three weeks away (I can't believe it is actually almost here. I'm surprised we haven't seen a thread for handheld games in the Pax South section so I am taking the liberty of creating one. So what is everyone bringing to Pax? I'll be packing my Vita, 3DS, and DS. I think I will leave my PSP at home. For 3DS it will be Mario Kart 7 (No doubt), Animal Crossing, Smash, and Mario Golf. I would bring Pokemon Y but I know I would stand a chance against most of the Pokemon crowd. Not sure about Vita since I don't really have any good multiplayer games. Any thoughts? I would purchase a couple games to bring with.

Also, here is the Handheld tournament schedule according to the Pax website.

Friday
Mario Kart 7 (3DS) 1pm-3pm
Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing (Vita? It doesn't say) 4pm-6pm

Saturday
Tetris DS (DS) 1pm-3pm
Lumines (PSP) 4pm-6pm

Street Fighter X Tekken (Vita) 4pm-6pm

My husband and I will probably bring our 3DSes with us and will have Smash Bros and Theatrhythm: Curtain Call. Please tell me there are other Theatrhythm fans out there. He also has Shovel Knight for tags.

I'll be bringing my 3DS with mario kart and smash. I'll also be bringing my vita with borderlands 2, SAO hollow fragment, AC liberation and duke nukem. I hope I see more vita fans around!

Everyone has a phone, so I would like to mention SpaceTeam. Great little line game that anyone can play. It's cross platform (iOS and android) if and only if you have a wifi hub which is unlikely at PAX, but you never know.

Anyone have a recommendation on a good usb charge cable for 3ds? I tried this one off amazon and it will only work if the system is completely off which kinda defeats the purpose.

Mario Kart 7 here. If I knew of other great games for short multiplayer bouts while waiting in line, I'd consider them - but I'm not far into Pokemon, and I've never really enjoyed Smash Bros., sadly.

I am looking forward to Streetpassing my brains out, though! XD

Theatrhythm is good for that, but I suppose it's kind of niche; you have to like SquareEnix music, and rhythm games, to really enjoy it. But if you do, it's a really good game, and single matches can last as short as a single song, which are usually only a couple minutes long.

We have one that we use with our USB battery (and it works while the 3DS is on, the only real downside is that it charges slower than the regular 3DS charger), but I'd have to ask my husband what kind it is...check back later tonight, I'll find out the brand and where he got it from and let you know!

Yes. I'm definitely looking forward to Streetpassing. I have 42 out of 50 states after Pax East 2013. I hope to fill that map up.

I own that same cable, and it charges while my 3DS is on or in sleep mode. Are you plugging it into a computer or battery pack? My guess is it probably has to do with what your using to charge it not the cable.

If anyone else is playing Fantasy Life I got it recently, so I only have one Life at Heroic. It is the Tailor tho, so if you got the game and see me I will have Princess dresses and the Tuxedo w/ Formal Slacks to give to anyone who wants it. I can also make any of the other outfits. I know it isn't much, but maybe someone will want 'em!
