Hey All,
This is the usual rules post for Console Tournaments. This time, we’re including the bigger tourneys usually run in Classic Console Freeplay (CCFP) too!
All tourney signups are in Console Tournament. Meet at Console Tourney 15 minutes before tournament start to practice.
Some tournaments will be held over in Classic Console Freeplay, but the meeting point is still in front of Console Tournament.
First: Signups for a given tournament starts on the day of the tournament.
Second: Signups start at 10am each day.
Third: All tournaments are single-elimination.

Tournaments run by vendors/sponsors are usually not on Brains' list.
This exactly
Both HDR games will be played on 360. We've got controllers, but you may bring your own if you like. Standard controllers are accepted instantly; if you've got a custom controller, we'll ask the audience (and your competition) if they think it's okay.
I understand where you're coming from, but as with most things at PAX, you have to choose the things that are most important to you. If the Omegathon final round is where your heart truly lies, then you shouldn't enter the tourney.
The plan is to play on 360s. (And at this stage, I really hope the plan doesn't change.)

Howdy! The YDKJ tourney here is on Xbox 360 (and all of these tourneys are on consoles, not handheld).

Any more info on this yet? Was hoping to get a little practice in if possible, which is tricky if I don't know what to practice.
Thanks.
The format for the PAX East tournament can be found in the notes to the video here: www. youtube. com/watch?v=Z87nV1Xsm38.
The format for the PAX Prime tournament can be found in the notes to the video here: www. youtube. com/watch?v=38oZKFXGWc0.
In particular, at East, you could use any of the 8 drop patterns. At Prime, everyone was required to use A-pattern.
Whatever the format, good luck to everyone who participates.
I'd like to give a special shout out to @Tektonikk for all the work he put into the tournaments he was overseeing. He was very patient, courteous, and accommodating for anyone who wanted to participate, but at the same time extremely efficient and organized, ensuring that his tournaments were completed quickly and that everyone was satisfied. It also helped that he was knowledgeable and skilled at the games being hosted, as he was able to comprehend small nuances of the game mechanics and make judgment calls that might have perplexed other tournament organizers.
Big kudos, @Tektonikk, I hope you continue to make PAX fun for everyone!
I would just like the stated time to be accurate, then. I think we wound up finishing 45-50 minutes late.
