I see mostly art here thats 2d, which is all good and well, some amazing stuff. However, being the artist's corner, I only see a subset of artists posting things. Thats not good
I wanted to create this thread to get some of us artists who work on games to post their stuff. 2d concept art, or textures on 3d models are plenty welcome. Personally, I wanted to show off some of my 3d art. I'll show a couple pictures of my latest WiP, and then some older stuff I've done.
M16:
Mechanical Bug I didn't get around to finishing
Arisaka Rifle, the model that I think was my best
I've done some other things too, but I think these show off a range of my works. They are all low polygon, the rifle clocked in at about 2200 tri's, and the M16 is at about 600 tri's, but if it ends up too high, I might cut down on things.
I cant url good so add me on steam anyways

That one's a WIP, I think. It would be an insane handgun.
I've done a little bit of 3d work myself... ill see if I can dig up some pics...
Right, so here's a college project I was working on. Normally I wouldn't mention it was a college project, but it was done under a dead-line, so that justifies why the final product is a little sloppy (read: very sloppy).
Some WIP shots:
This is from when I started modelling with max for the first time, so it's pretty crude
Same with this head, though its a little better
Then I started converting the body to be a little less human-like
Then BAM, head attached, and textured (really really poorly... once again... deadlines)
Terrain WIP
Terrain WIP + temple and improved lighting
Final product, rendered @ 1280*1024 (wanted more but the PC's at college didn't have the RAM >_<). Took somewhere around 3 hours for final render. 3dsMax 9 Mental Ray + Final Gather. Post-Production in Photoshop (clouds, colour/contrast adjustments, glowiness)... I think I overdid the glowiness >_<
Link'd for hugeness
EDIT: I just realised this doesn't really classify as "gaming". To make up for it, I will post some Yoshi, Koopa and ShyGuy renders I did for an animation a while back... later on :D

Yeah, those are nice. What was the point of posting them? Did you create them from scratch?
it looks better in motion
Not the textures but the geometry.
Heres a test I did for Retro almost 2 years ago
and heres the test I took for my current job at EA (formerly Headgate)
Just a little bit of the body, and the stock got put on...

First 3d thing I ever tried to model. Way too many polygons in this thing (especially for the time, around 2001).
Next, I went on to try to model Vivi for Quake 3.
I actually finished the model and had it at a usable polycount. Then I unwrapped it and started work on textures.
But I didn't get too far before my harddrive died and I lost everything, making me lose interest in modeling characters.
Sucks too, because I really enjoyed the experience.
