Neither the person making the dumb joke about dongles nor the person who tweeted her disapproval profited, with the former being fired two days after the incident and the latter being fired after MRA types launched DDoS attacks on her company and said they'd only stop when she was fired.

It's convenient for me as a mod of a curated forum to say this, but I have no interest in conversation with absolutely everyone on the internet; 'a bid for the attention of strangers" is a good way to put it. And beyond the public shaming, the idea that at any point a stranger on the internet can just at me with vile insults and/or demands that I engage them in conversation is insanity; I have no idea how semi-famous people live with it.

In order to create a brighter future, we call for solidarity among our unloved comrades, so that we may demonstrate in resolute opposition to Valentine’s Day and the romantic industrial complex.”

At previous events, leaders of the group have yelled slogans such as “I hope all riyajuus explode! But we’re still a little jealous!” while wearing shirts that say, roughly, “sex is useless.”

But complications during dental surgery, followed by antibiotics not fully doing their job, my gallbladder throwing an enormous fit, my liver throwing a fit due to my gallbladder throwing a fit which lead to a lot of bloodtests, a mystery spot on my nose appearing during all of this...

Sounds like he's giving the same interview over and over, which kind of means that each of them is his last. It's the same one and it's the last different one he'll give.

Interesting article, though I have to say my sympathy is rather limited for anyone who summons an internet hate mob on a co-worker and then succumbs to a backlash internet hate mob.

It's almost as if intentionally seeking outside, anonymous, non-accountable legions of people to resolve your workplace disputes for you is a terrible idea.
