Well, that's because ESPN made sure to hold onto the brightest stars of the bunch, but they wouldn't have gotten on the national level when they did if not for Grantland, so if the new site leads to more great writing, then that's a good thing.

You obviously never read Mark Titus' most powerful college basketball power rankings. As far as I know he's still under contract with ESPN but his writing wouldn't exactly fit on the ESPN main site so he's just not writing anything right now. Which sucks cause he's hilarious.

I miss Grantland something fierce.
SB Nation is decent but not the same. Though they do have some good long-form articles
Zach Lowe's writing is dearly missed. he still writes on espn but it's not as long form as it used to be and his articles can't be as goofy and fun as they sometimes were.
i still go to grandland sometimes by accident and it makes me sad

Love to the Celtics rumors are rising up again.
Not sure if there's any merit there or if they need to keep people interested in a trade deadline where nothing is going to happen.
Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired forward Channing Frye from the Orlando Magic in a three-team trade that sends Anderson Varejao to the Portland Trail Blazers, sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein and Chris Broussard.
The Cavaliers are also sending a conditional first-round pick to the Blazers and Jared Cunningham to Orlando, while Portland is sending a second-round pick to the Magic.
aww I wanted Varejao to replace Mozgov in the rotation
I guess he can be a starter now perhaps

Thunder got Randy Foye from Denver for something...

Varejao has missed almost 300 games the last 6 seasons. His starting days on any contender are long gone.

In that case he may very well spend the next month or so in limbo and then come back to Cleveland. They did the same thing with Big Z in 2010.
The Golden State Warriors are contemplating a run at free agent-to-be Anderson Varejao, according to league sources.
Sources told ESPN.com that the Warriors are among several teams, along with Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Dallas, currently investigating the prospect of signing Varejao, who is scheduled to clear waivers Sunday after his trade from Cleveland to Portland and subsequent release by the Trail Blazers.

OKC opens up the second half of the season with back-to-back home losses. They are really hurting for points outside of their big three. Waiters, whom was already averaging a career low 9.7 PPG, only scored 4 points in over 60 minutes of play in these two losses and was 1-14 from the field.
I would really like to see Dion / Dwight / Rondo on the same team. I think that would really be something.

As much as I would enjoy watching Dion put up one bad shot after another in a Knicks uniform I think Phil might actually know what he's doing. Also, Phil gave away J.R. Smith for almost nothing and Waiters is basically a worse version of Smith.
What is your obsession with the Knicks? Phil has made good, smart moves, he's not signing Dion for anything above a vet's minimum.
Well mainly that they stink and I am glad when they stink. I think Carmelo Anthony is overrated, and that Patrick Ewing was overrated and that spike Lee is a butt
A childhood of worshipping Michael Jordan will do that to you. Fuck da knicks

I'm secretly hoping for Blake to Denver.
Muiday/Jocik(that's spelled so wrong)/ Blake?
Yeah, yeah I'm okay with ALL OF THIS.
Not a bad deal, provided Motiejūnas can stay on the court.

Makes Tobias Harris trade look even worse that they couldn't get a first rounder out of it

My plan of dropping him until he was traded did not work as intended.

he's a beast when healthy
would be cool if he became a Spur
God, I love it when Lillard plays angry. I hope he gets snubbed from the all-star team every year.
Montiejunas failed the physical and Detroit is voiding the trade.
Now the Rockets have no first round pick, will be over the luxury tax, and get 3 players back who are just dumped from the team...
Knicks and it isn't close
Blah.
I actually like D-Mo a lot, but I don't blame the Rockets for being wary of his back issues. This... really sucks for everyone.
