G-mail block?

Is it possible to block a specific e-mail on Gmail and stop them from contacting you? I've been getting e-mails from an ex, and I'd rather not see them in my inbox every time I check for important things.

Not directly, but you can set up a filter to delete email from that person:

also if they are in your chat window thing, just click them and set the quick contacts thing to 'block;

You could also mark the email as spam. That ought to keep it out of your inbox.
