Ah, yes, quite a conundrum. Unfortunately, I can offer only one solution:

WHY NOT BOTH!?

Because Karn is currently at the top of the deck's curve, and I'm not so sure I can really support both of them since I tend to leave mana open for counters, draw, etc.

Although. Maybe I could cut Stroke of Genius for Kozilek? I don't have a lot of great tutors for X spells, and Stroke would cost 7 CMC to tie with Kozilek's draw 4... Hmm

Hixus doesn't seem especially great, unless he's a big body too. Fiend Hunter is basically a straight upgrade in terms of ability for 2 less. Maybe if Hixus is a 4/4 or better? Even then, being able to exile a creature before it gets the chance to damage you, or even exile creatures with powerful abilities that nobody wants to attack with, makes me think I'd still rather have Fiend Hunter.

Admittedly, the flavor is pretty cool though.

the fact that you have to get punched in the face, and then they spend a removal on him and they all come back and you spent 5 mana to get a removal spell out of their hand, is awfulllll

but it's a cool design

Hixus can exile multiple creatures, flash in and kill an attacker, and can also hit Stormbreath.

But yeah, need to see the body.

It's like a combination of Banishing Light and Spear of Heliod. But yeah, probably too cute/conditional to see constructed play - like most of the front-packed rares in those intro decks.

Yeah, the intro pack Rares are rarely (heh) constructed playable.

If the bodies decent, it could be good in Draft.

i won't lie i've been thinking about what planeswalkers are going to be in bfz and it feels like there's just not enough space

we know gideon is there, he's confirmed

it's gonna be really weird if nissa/kiora isn't there

nahiri has a ton of foreshadowing to show up as a planeswalker...and so does ob nixilis? in a weird way?

ugin and sorin have a vested interest in being present, chandra could justify being there (you know, so we get a red walker at some point in the set)

and all this doesn't even count the characters that come out of left field like ashiok or xenagos or domri or vraska, which would be kind of a bummer to be without?

Well, they'll get 4 total planeswalkers presumably, between BFZ and the followup set. Ugin and Sorin just got printed, so they're "present," same argument for Gideon and Nissa from Origins

Nahiri will probably be in the first set, Ob Nixilis as the "twist" in the second

That leaves 2 spots in BFZ, assuming the typical "3 walkers per large set" deal, which could easily be Kiora and a surprise.

Did they just walk away from the Garruk story or is he still out there in some explained capacity? Did the planeswalker hunter actually kill any planeswalkers other than the nameless protagonist of Duels 2014?

the best thing to do would be to have a character which captures the visual fantasy of an angel, like how tibalt is demonic, without having them actually be an angel

i'd like a spirit planeswalker with similar justification
