PS Vita/PSTV: It's this really obscure handheld, you've probably never heard of it
I set up my router next to my consoles, so they're all wired. Then I have a powerline adapter w/ WiFi set up for my bedroom. It runs pretty stable most of the time. Direct connection was good for the same room, but I only wanted Remote Play for upstairs, and direct was garbage that far away from the actual console.
I ended up setting up an range extender next to my PS4 and plugging the PS4 directly into that. It's the difference of using 5ghz AC vs non-5ghz N, so it improved it considerably.
The free version of Dead or Alive Final Round running at 60fps makes a pretty good stress test. Though I have to say the connection is inconsistent, near perfect early today and then spotty connect this evening.
Remote Play is neat, but definitely has some limitations. My Vita will be a lot better once I get the memory card for it and start downloading my accumulated PSN+ games / cross buy titles.
Make sure that your Settings > Power Save Settings > Use Wi-Fi in Power Save Mode is unchecked. When this is checked, it reduces the amount of energy that your Wi-Fi uses at the cost of performance.
Hm... anyone had much experience with dying memory cards? I assume it's the memory card and not the Vita...
My girlfriend's Vita decided that the memory card was 'removed' and effectively erased itself - twice this week... >.<
Yeah, I had a similar problem a couple of months ago.
I solved it by switching the system off, then removing the memory card and plugging it back in. Like an old Nintendo cartridge.
After a couple of tries the system detected it correctly.

Same thing happened to a few months back, and it's happening again. In fact, the first time it happened she removed and replugged the memory card, and found it erased itself. And then it happened again this morning.

Yeah, as someone who plays a decent amount of games via RemotePlay, I can tell you that Destiny and Fallout 4 are both really good (incidentally the same guy designed both of those), and the Assassin's Creed controls are pretty decent (at some point, they changed the Unity command for throwing smoke bombs to double back touch, which is really dumb). WB Games, on the other hand, are generally terrible; Mad Max was flat out unplayable, to the point that I don't know if I ever even tried it for Batman when I got that later. Mordor was almost playable, but there was one important thing that used the back touch just often enough make me quit playing it via RP.
Holy crap my copy of Valkyrie Drive is already out for delivery (Canada). VideoGamesPlus just moved up on my list.
Which reminds me, do we know if the Asia English version of Dragon Quest Builders' licalization is equivalent to the NA PSN release?

VideoGamesPlus is awesome because they dont really care about release dates. As soon as they get the item, they ship it, which may be 3-7 days before release
I couldn't even get through all the tutorial missions in Valkyrie Drive before I went back to Darkest Dungeon. Hopefully I'll get sick of DD one day and get infected with VD.
Heheh.

My copy of Valkyrie Drive arrived, so presumably I'm on another watch list somewhere. I was a little surprised that they wound up going with the slightly-tamer cover but I guess even pqube has to toe the line re: ESRB rules.
Sometime this year I may even make time to play it.
Additionally, what are the must haves for the Vita? I also never owned a PSP so recommendations there as well would be welcome.
I noticed that the Disgea games are on sale, are those any good?
I got my memory card so I am ready to rock.
If you can stand JRPGs at all, Persona 4 Golden is basically the best one out there. It is long, though. Maybe a good 60 hours for your first playthrough, with some of us having put in 100+.
Gravity Rush is a fun game, but 'm especially a sucker for anything that bends gravity/time. I definitely recommend it, though.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2
I'll second these, although P4 took a while to grow on me. I'll also add Virtue's Last Reward if visual novels are your thing.

Bought Valkyrie Drive on Amazon but the shipping date is 10/18. My free two day shipping had been defeated.
Does anyone know a website that shows a full list of upcoming releases on PS4 and PS Vita?
And as far as game recommendations go I always recommend Corpse Party for a good interactive visual novel. There are some not so great anime tropes but the horror is good and the sound is also done really well. Headphones lead to a better experience.

Killzone Mercenary is cool... If you like FPS. It handled really well on the Vita and the visuals are great. Again... Only if you like FPS. I haven't played it in a while so I'm not sure how the multi is at the moment.
The amount of dungeon crawlers on the Vita is getting to ridiculous levels. But this one looks spiffy and I hope it comes over. Made by Compile Heart, who has their own western branch now, so I think there's a good chance. It's a spiffy dark riff on fairy tales. Your characters are Jack, Alice, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Thumbelina, Rapunzel, and Kaguya.
As far as games that didn't make it over, Genkai Tokki Moero Crystal (the sequel to Moe(ro) Chronicle) had it's Asia English localization quietly canceled, but fans are already hard at work fan-translating it. If one great thing has sprung up from Henkaku it's how many damn fan-translation projects have started up overnight. It really shows that the Vita has a rabid fanbase.
Localized:
Mei Q: Labyrinth of Death
Stranger of Sword City
Ray Gigant
Dungeon Travelers 2
Moe(ro) Chronicle (Asian English release)
Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy (remake of games 1+2 of Xth series)
Demon Gaze
Bastardized Localizations:
Criminal Girls 2: Party Favors (rewritten from scratch characters/scenes, cut content, completely changed content, even sillier levels of censorship)
Criminal Girls: Invite Only (silly levels of censorship)
Not (Yet) Localized:
Divine Prison Tower: Mary Skelter
Demon Gaze II
Coven and Labyrinth of Refrain
Labrinth X-Blood Infinity Ultimate (remake of 4th game of the Xth series, standalone sequel)
New Interpretation Stranger of Sword City (updated version of the game)
Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls (port, PS3 version is released in English)
Operation Babel: New Tokyo Legacy (remake of game 3 of Xth series)
ToHeart2: Dungeon Travelers
Upcoming Japanese Releases:
Dungeon Travelers 2-2
So that's seven localized + one western, one currently being fan-translated, two games with bastardized localizations, six unlocalized, two updated/ported localized games (don't expect a 2nd localization) and a seventh not released in Japan from all in the genre I'm aware of.

Yep. It's why those R2 cases exist. Some devs have great remote play settings but many leave it on default.
At least you can remote play via PSTV or PC with a PS4 controller.

I'd say they could add it in a system update but at this point they probably would have added it if they were going to.

Correct. It doesn't do anything.

There's tons more. There's tons, just going with indies.
People who own both games? That's a Venn diagram that's got to be nearly a circle.

But you can't play VLR unless you hunt down a copy of 999 on DS first.
I guess
Don't do it get the DS version
And I hope that theoretical port has the puzzles included, unlike the iOS/Steam "Visual Novel Only" versions.

Speaking of Dungeon Crawlers again, lets see how many we have for the Vita actually. Here's a nice, slightly outdated, /vg/ list of recommendations of them. MeiQ is missing from it's localized list ("Death Under the Labyrinth" on that list).

Thank you
I noticed today that I had an update for Digimon Cyber Sleuth. Looks like they added some Digimon. Anyone know about that?
