That's pretty much what that play was designed to do, especially when the defense is crashing everyone to the play-side.

I dreamed a dream.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Yeah, OSU is not going to play that bad in the second quarter again. They might also give the ball to Elliott.

So why the hell does Scott Van Pelt need a SportsCenter of his own? Why not just give him a show with its own name? Such a weird thing. Where was SportsCenter with Stuart Scott or any number of other guys?
Because he's the only anchor the internet likes, I'm pretty sure.

OSU's offensive staff is obnoxiously smart. That was the same look they got two big plays to the RB with, including the 4th down. VT talked about it at the half and two guys went flying to Elliott. No help over the top.

VT's defense played well and is going to allow 40 points.

I was really confused until I realized that the red meant that you were wrong. Shows how much I pay attention to my picks that I had no idea how my teams actually did.

WEEK 2 - IT'S ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE
Against the Spread (spread in parenthesis courtesy of ESPN)
#10 Georgia (-20) @ Vanderbilt – This is the second sneaky Georgia ATS game in a row. Grayson Lambert looked competent in his first start, and Vandy is….well I guess they’re a step up? They almost pulled off the upset against Western Kentucky last week, so I guess anything is technically possible. But the bigger question will be if Georgia sleepwalks through this game before the Battle Between the Hedges next week.
Memphis (-13.5) @ Kansas – Kansas surprised last week by almost upsetting South Dakota State, and that is a real sentence that I just wrote. Between that and having the Starship Dickerprise hovering near their mouth, things could be better in Lawrence. Memphis is a decent team, so that should be fun. Good luck on picking this game, and just know that me and ASimPerson love you as though you were our children, and are doing this to make you stronger.
Army @ UConn (-7.5) – UConn was able to pull off the upset over Villanova last week, and that’s another sentence that is true. Army has been getting progressively better in the past few years, and getting a win on the road over a middling to bad program is something this team should be able to do at this point. Which probably means UConn wins this, and somehow goes on to a big bowl game because the universe likes playing jokes like having UConn win things or letting Notre Dame fans have happiness.
Oregon State @ Michigan (-15.5) – Michigan went into Utah and didn’t completely embarrass themselves (hi Texas!) so I’d say the Harbaugh Era in Ann Arbor is off to a good start. Oregon State is in a full rebuild in Gary Anderson’s first year, but instead of focusing on that, just remember that Gary Anderson left Wisconsin on purpose to go to Corvallis, and Barry Alvarez must be the worst boss in history. And, should Michigan’s offense show some improvement from last week, they should get this win.
Straight-Up Winner (spread in parenthesis courtesy of ESPN)
Iowa (-3.5) @ Iowa State – EL ASSICO! HOPE Y’ALL ARE PREPARED FOR THE BEST/WORST FOOTBALL GAME OF THE YEAR, PITTING GO IOWA AWESOME AGAINST THE SCHOLAR-ATHLETES FROM AMES. IF JON BOIS COULD CREATE A FOOTBALL GAME, IT’D PROBABLY LOOK A LOT LIKE THIS GAME, WHICH HAS NEVER MADE SENSE IN ITS ENTIRE HISTORY. ALL HAIL EL ASSICO! MAY IT’S REIGN NEVER END.
#20 Boise State (-3) @ BYU – Boise State’s march to a New Year’s Six Bowl continues against a BYU squad that is now without star quarterback Taysom Hill. The defense should still be good, and Boise State’s game against Washington proved that team is far from perfect, so this should still be rather close (also this is the second true freshman quarterback Boise State has faced in a row because why not).
#19 Oklahoma @ #23 Tennessee (EVEN ODDS) – Good news: we learned basically nothing about either team after week 1. Bad news we learned basically nothing about either team after week 1. If anything, Tennessee’s offense looked better than anticipated, and their defense looked worse than anticipated. Oklahoma….looked like a better Oklahoma than last year. I really don’t know who to pick here, or even what to say. Maybe we should have just put El Assico up here 10 times and called it a week.
#14 LSU (-4) @ #25 Mississippi State – Mississippi State looked good against an improved Southern Mississippi team last week. The fact that they even got to play a game and see what’s working and what isn’t should bode well for them, as LSU didn’t even get that opportunity, as its game against McNeese State was cancelled due to lightning. But, as you all know, thunder always follows lightning, and “Thunder” is my new nickname for Leonard Fournette because he’s constantly bringing the boom and I don’t know where I’m going with this anymore. Les Miles coaches one of these teams, which means crazy is bound to happen.
Minnesota (-6) @ Colorado State – Minnesota put on a very game effort against TCU last week, to the point where I’d say they’re the B1G West frontrunners at this point (does the B1G do East/West now? Are we done with Leaders and Legends? I’m too lazy to do research on the B1G divisions). Colorado State, now coached by Mike Bobo (who still needs to RUN THE DANG BALL, BOBO!), put a shellacking on traditional FBS punching bag Savannah State, and this game should be a good one.
GAME OF THE CENTURY OF THE WEEK (spread in parenthesis courtesy of ESPN)
#7 Oregon @ #5 Michigan State (EVEN ODDS) – In last year’s meeting, Michigan state controlled this game for a good half before Marcus Mariota and the Oregon Death Star activated and ran away with the game. This time, Oregon will be without Mariota, as the possibly-concussed-last-week Vernon Adams showed the offense will be fine without Mariota (just as we all assumed it would be). The defense, however, left a lot to be desired, as Eastern Washington had lost their best player to transfer in Vernon Adams, and was still able to put up a ton of yards. Michigan State’s offense looked really good, while the defense looked a bit un-Sparty-like in their first game. Neither team would necessarily be out of the playoff race, but a win here would make the margin for error much bigger for either team. After all, neither of these teams can really get away with an opening loss to Virginia Tech like some other schools can.

*sigh*
Thanks, Hokie Fullback
He is now my new favorite player
Oh my god they do
I know OSU will win anyway, but I'm having fun
This is hilarious
After a whole offseason of the world's most positive quarterback controversy, there is now some actual controversy
And damn, Braxton Miller...
I was really confused until I realized that the red meant that you were wrong. Shows how much I pay attention to my picks that I had no idea how my teams actually did.
Didn't this same awful PSU team take OSU to OT last year?
How the hell did that even happen

When do we vote to take your game picking powers away?
Kansas and UConn know what they did.

I'll just get little sheets of paper with half the teams on them and toss them in the air over two buckets.
It's as good a method as any other
