Now that I'm caught up on the Friendcast (I have way too much listening time at work it turns out) I've added 8-4 and the Beastcast to my rotation. Started over on the Beastcast, trying to figure if I wanna do the same for 8-4 since they go back to 2010.
I like both of 'em quite a bit. Episode 0 on the Beastcast was a nice introductory primer to the personalities involved (how the Hell old is Vinny, anyway? I guess he's in his mid-40s?), so I'll catch up on that. 8-4 is nice in that they tend to talk about topics I can deal with pretty well, especially about localization and Nintendo games and such, though I'm not as big on the nitty gritty of the cultural weight of living in Japan. Still, really good
Only problem is I have so much listening time at work that I don't think the three running concurrently will suffice. 8-4 is only semi-weekly and Beastcast seems to be pretty iron-clad at about 2 hours most of the time
I wonder how many more decent gaming podcasts are out there. Maybe I need to branch out.
Its one of your family members mentioning you have a podcast
And then everyone sitting around and listening to it while you just sit there and watch them listen to it
when I was staying at home over the summer, my mom came into my room while we were recording an episode of It's A Work!
she sat down on my bed and waited until I finished my loud, profanity-laden rant about terrible wrestling fans and looked like the proudest mother in the world

Its worth noting noone made fun of me and everyone was very nice
So episode 4 was pretty important, being the first canonical appearance of The Morphing Grid Theory. It's for the best I'm listening sequentially it seems.

There's a reason I've been keeping on the elaborate idea that you've all somehow whisked me away from Australia and I'm just a being you summon every now and then
meanwhile these knuckleheads can't even remember that we established we're sealed in some ethereal podcasting studio with a blood seal that can only be broken once we've reviewed every episode
i don't see what's so hard to remember about that!

I remember telling my parents about having been on a podcast when I was visiting and then about the invite I got to do the bonus beetleborgs episode (Go listen to it if you haven't! We have a ghostbuster on it! That's awesome!) and they were excited for me. Felt pretty darn good.

Gita Jackson is probably the person on podcasts I listen to with the largest difference between how greatly I enjoy listening to them talk about stuff and how poorly I would probably get along with them in real life. Her perspective is always super fascinating.
Austin is now getting talked about in the 4chan board related to the minneapolis shooting
that's because he posted on twitter about reading it in the wake of the shooting after linking an article that explains how 4chan became a breeding ground for white supremacists

Out of context this is.... kinda poetic
It's almost a Softer World strip

All right, I'll get an episode on the ol' Zune
Weird, I thought he said he'd be 60 by the time his kids got out of high school
Its worth noting noone made fun of me and everyone was very nice
It was still torture
If anyone is interested
Vinny has been posting original song compositions he made in the early 2000s on his tumblr
Either he was making a joke or he just wasn't counting.
60 is a good ballpark figure for "old me".
a damning statement about the intelligence of his child
so if they were in their mid-40s their kids would be older than that.
I just got the biggest damned smile

More importantly has anyone watched that goddamn movie
We will have to have you back on sometime
holy shit I am laughing so hard
Gita's definitely the strongest personality, I think, and it's fun to listen to her talk about dating sim games
(when I read her name I thought it was pronounced with a j sound, not a g sound, so I am shamed by my foolishness)
you never can tell with G's
I had a long drive, so I listened to the whole thing
They are convinced that the movie is about how Paul Blart is an unkillable being whose only wish is to be released from his prison of a body
Also Travis says he didn't like the movie but continues to mention things about it that made him laugh uproariously
well I think it's pretty straight forward
