Hmm just read on reddit a good idea which is to go to training mode and set the dummy AI level to like 8 to practice on. I'm definitely going to do that before giving survival another shot so that I can actually learn how the computer fights without having to go through heaps of filler before the single elimination matches that matter
Dhalsim questions:
What are his AA options? Crouching mp for distance and back mp when they are close? How does back HP fit in? Mainly I run into issues when people are in my face and jumping.
Crouching MK is pretty solid and I know I can combo with Vtrigger, but are there any other combos with it?
I'm also not really sure how to combo off his drill attack. Does it just take practice to get the distance correct? Is it even really worth using?
It's the embodiment of the Mexican Standoff. Once you start walking forward the only way to stop is to let go of the buttons and attack. But that would leave you open to being punished by the other guy since the attack would be eaten by armor and then they'd hit you. The safest thing to do is just keep walking.
Like why do character levels even exist if they don't unlock colors?
You get fight money for leveling.
You could just have that tied to overall player level since that's just the sum of all character levels though. I agree, leveling seems like the sanest way to do it.
I kind of don't understand the progression of this game
It is really weird that playing the single-player stuff starts you off at a full-on sprint, getting you a bajillion levels and FM
And then once that's done it's time to slow down to a complete crawl, 50 FM and 100 XP at a time per win when you were getting 100x that just minutes before

Daily Challenges will likely be the main, post story mode, way of earning FM and those aren't out till March.

This worked really well until zangief on stage 27 when he started blocking them and comboing me
edit: and i tried again and level 25 ryu perfected me???
god this is actually the worst
Fuck that, colors should be unlocked by playing the characters in any mode. Nobody buys this for some random seemingly untested single player mode.
Also are these Nash players like, trying to roleplay their characters by having laggy teleporty connections?
Welp. I got mine, you chumps are on your own!
Also, Nash's M sonic scythe appears to have the same effect.

So they can have an achievement tied to getting it high enough.

It's really annoying that normal hit st.HK v cancel gives you more damage than CC st.HK v cancel.
cr.MP, st.LK, HP srk is a very satisfying combo to land though, plus it gives great wakeup options.
The online dive kick into DP/throw mixup is real.

Her jank is a lot more exploitative online than Ken's is this time around.

I watched a high rank player lose to hard on stream because some of the AI caught him off guard
"How the fuck are you supposed ask normal people do this with jobs and shit? This is bullshit Capcom."
