[Star Wars] Nothing quite as thrilling as galactic politics.
High stared leia is the most powerful unit in the game, if the enemy doesn't kill her first round she can decimate you with repeat crits per turn.
The AI blows her first action on the stealth, though, when it should just get to killing. For the most part all she does is get the kill shot on my Poe, who is disposable. When I see a high-starred FOTP it's with a Geo Soldier and Phasma, so by the time they both move I'm usually down one person and hurting on another (unless Poe goes first).

Yeah, but the whole thing with arena (and GW, really) is to get as many of your attacks off before the opponent can get traction. Speed kills more than anything else, from what I've seen. It's part of why Poe is a big deal; he moves quickly and knocks your opponent's bars down so you get an entire team action before most enemies move. If she wants to blow one getting stealth I'll gladly enjoy my trip through 5 v 4 land.

Depends a lot on the pilot too, Poe is pretty terrifying and BB8 allows for a lot of crazy maneuverability
Because despite the fact that the movie was four hours long and made all the money I couldn't tell you anything substantive about that film if you held a gun to my head
Don't forget The Last Samurai! Doesn't have to be an Eco-friendly message so long as Mighty Whitey is better at the adopted warrior culture than its natives are.
This gets leveled at the Last Samurai a lot and i really don't think it fits. The romance in the film is kind of bonkers and doesn't work so well, but at no point in that film does Tom Cruise's character become "better at Samurai-ing" than any body else, nor is the title of the film a reference to Tom Cruise's character, regardless of what the promotional materials may imply. He is an audience surrogate that tells the story of Ken Watanabe's Last Samurai. He has his own arc, but the external conflict is almost entirely to do with Japanese history and shifting cultural values, and the Cruise character has little to no impact on the outcome. His "big moment" is a small appeal to remember a fading culture, one that he is uniquely suited to deliver due to the peculiarities of bushido: the only reason he is able to have this pivotal emotional moment at all is precisely because he is NOT the Last Samurai.

Yeah I feel like it's pretty rough for the Imperial player with just the starter. None of the tie pilots in the starter set are super good without some extra stuff backing them up, but Poe is just a straight up beast on his own. I feel like if you picked up one TX-70 expansion and one Tie/FO expansion and made some even point lists things would shake out a lot better.
I just got back from my first X-wing night at my FLGS. What a blast! 24 person turn out, super friendly people, doing 80 point lists that had to be from only a new hope and empire strikes back which I don't have the stuff for, but people spotted me the stuff I needed to make a list. Went 2 and 1 over all. Definitely will go again soon.

How well does the game expand to play with 2, 3, 4 people per side?
Big 2 on 2 games are all right, and you can do some silly stuff with lots of people and lots of ships, but it's really at its best with 1v1, which is what it's designed to be.
It's interesting that we're having a discussion about Avatar right now, I wonder how the Avatar 2 mocap tech compares with the tech used to mocap in this film.

Yeah, number of shards to unlock are directly related to number of stars
10 shards for 1 star, 25 for 2, 50 for 3 and 80 for 4
Same goes for upgrading
15 shards to go from 1 to 2 stars, etc

That ship may come with 4 pilots, but trust me, it only comes with 3
The cheapest guy doesn't even have a pilot ability which makes the ship completely useless
