"Dog Island" or "Wii gets its Nintendogs?"

I am not even going to pretend I know what I just saw in the first two trailers. All I know is that these dogs have gigantic heads. GIGANTIC! It's almost chibi-like because of how well you can see their faces, and it still somehow has a bit of a cute feel. The first trailer definitely gave me a Nintendogs feel, even if that won't be in-game. The second trailer....I'm at a loss for words. Could there be a story in this?

Nonetheless, if a lot of kids see this, they just might go "I want it!" So could it all happen again?

(Of course, it's also for PS2, so maybe this is all moot.)

    That's kinda what made it so weird. First trailer is all happy happy fun time. Second trailer tries to be serious, I think, at least for what it can do.

    I've played a bit of it. It's called "The DOG Island" because it's tied in with a line of Japanese chibi-photography products (behold!). Anyway, the story is that you (as a dog) set out to find some medicine for your terminally-ill little brother, and get shipwrecked on this island. I likened it to Animal Crossing with a quest mode, but I didn't get a chance to play all that far.

    I did get a lot of laughs out of the "You learned how to sniff out 'DIRTY PLACES'!" message.

    WTF is this shit?

    Those "The Dog" things... kinda cute, but man, this game version somehow manages to hit "uncanny valley" with 'em.

    I never thought I'd see the uncanny valley populated with cute but weird puppies.
