Monitor death?

Pretty sure the answer here is "new monitor", but worth a shot. Went to turn it on today; power light flashes on, then off again half a second later. Repeats every five or so seconds. The light on the power supply did pretty much the same thing. Tried again a while later, nothing from the monitor, but the power supply light flashes. Power supply plugged in by itself is perfectly fine, steady green light, but as soon as it's hooked up to the monitor it goes back to flashing. And this is all independent of any other cables being plugged in, so.
