Problem with Nexus Mod Manager and .NET

RightfulSinRightfulSin Registered User regular
Ok, I have recently bought Fallout New Vegas, and I would like to try out some mods with it as well (to update the graphics for example). However, I download the Nexus Mod Manager and it said it needed .NET v4.6, I clicked the go ahead for it to open the link and download that. It does that and completes the download, but then when it goes to open .NET it pops up with something saying that it is not supported by this operating system. I have Windows 7 Ultimate and have updated it to SP1, still it changes nothing. I am not sure, but would like to have this be able to work so as to use some of these mods. That, or I have to download and install them manually I guess? Any help in regards to this would be much appreciated.

Yeah SP1 is what you need for 4.6 on Win7.

I'd go ahead and reboot it then redownload and try again.

Ok. I do not get it. I have Windows 7 Ultimate edition. Does that mean I can't get SP1? I downloaded it I thought, but it still shows that it is Windows 7 Ultimate in the control panel system info page. How do I get the SP1 so I can use the NMM?

You might have to go into your settings and roll back the SP1 install. It could just be that for some reason it's not correctly registering that it's installed.

Windows 7 SP1 should have been an automatic update years ago. If it's not installed, maybe run a malware scan. There are a number of malware programs that can prevent Windows Update from running, put policies to prevent service packs on the system, and just break services.
