How To Play My PS2/1 On My HDMI Only TV

joshuafallsjoshuafalls Registered User new member
Hi Guys,

Have been looking around in the loft and came across my old PS2 and PS1 now we all have updated TVs in the house with only HDMI outputs as they are 55"ers. I did buy a box off Amazon but it is a waste of time and the quality is rubbish and comes and goes hopefully someone has sorted the problem and found a solution?.

Thanks

I'm very interested in the response to this. I am looking for a receiver that can handle Composite cables for a NES, Genesis, Dreamcast, and PS2 with the option of expanding to an Xbox One and PS4.

I've seen some RCA to HDMI cables on Amazon, but I thought since I still had the original cables I might try those out first.

I've done this with a PS2 before. I used a component out for the PS2 here. Most nice tvs still have at least 1 component/composite input. It looks slightly better than the HDMI conversion box or the standard composite cables.

Unfortunately, all of these options probably won't look fantastic on a 55" tv. The PS1/PS2 just wasn't designed to display on TVs that size, and it certainly shows when you hook them up. But hey, it's better than throwing it in the garbage right?
