I keep getting legendary skins and credits because the game is really being odd to me
I have all three of DVA's emotes now!
Still not buying a thing with my 4k in credits
also re: offense torb managing to get a turret onto your payload and keeping it thete for any real length of time is the most magical thing
Yeah, I've seen that happen and been on the receiving end of it. But the person in question just couldn't get the turret up or couldn't keep it up for longer than 3 seconds before getting blitzed by 2-4 people on the other team.

Bought a highlight intro on Roadhog today and what happens? Get my first POTG as Roadhog 8-) Great games with ya'll
I had to sit in the training room and rebind buttons for a while to figure everything out. I was going from 7 buttons to just 5. So jump had to go to left stick, and crouch to left Dpad. It's not like I ever use the 'hero power display' screen anymore. Everything else worked out, except sometimes I hit the mouse scroll and change weapons while clicking the scroll button for my Ult. I don't think that should cause any real problems, though.
Other drawback is it makes a little beeping noise when you switch from controller to mouse. Which means it does it constantly. I barely notice it (or the UI swapping) but when I do it's annoying. No idea if there's a way to disable the sound/UI or what, probably not though. Also I can't recline all the way back in my chair and relax, I have to sit way closer to use the mouse. That does make my neck hurt a bit, but only at the very end of the session, so not too bad.
I actually had to crank the sensitivity up above the default, which I didn't expect. I might have to raise it a bit more, to be honest. I still stuck to playing less aiming intensive characters, just in case.
Highlight was probably the Torbjorn POTG where I hit Ult and the scroll wheel changed my weapon, so I dove off a platform right into a melee and clubbed multiple people to death with the hammer before figuring out how to switch back.
you should post about this on the blizzard forums
it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't know this control scheme was desirable for some players, and are willing to implement it properly
Cool, posted it in the Tech Support area. We'll see what they think.
Here's the thread, if anyone else wants to...post there or...give it a thumbs up? So someone hopefully notices it. Not sure how their forums work, I think I posted on the WoW ones a few times way back in the day and that's it. @miscellaneousinsanity
Popped into a random game tonight and everyone went Torb with the one exception of a Lucio. We almost won on the first point but they countered with 2 zarya and 2 pharah and once our initial defense broke we were screwed.
Had some nice matchrs with fellow PAers this evening; we did a silly attack on Volskaya with 5 D.Vas and a Mercy, and it was glorious how we capped point A.
Bonus points too for each D.Va having a different skin
But the end was brutal, they had 2 Torbjorns, 2 Bastions, a Mei and a Zarya which was a very tough nut to crack.
10 seconds remained, (I was the only player who still played D.Va at that point), and a lucky fly-and-super later I killed 3 players and a turret, and we managed to win the match
I still need to hammer on my PS4 to get that PotG movie posted
We met a lot of good teams and players; a murderous Tracer, someone who was an insane Genji (and he was low level, but apparently of the 25 hours played, 24 were Genji  )
Fun times! Many thanks everyone!
It was 3 Torbjorns, 2 Bastions and a Mei at the end. I think they just got super annoyed at us outflanking them with all D.Va's (+ pug Mercy) on Point A, although I think with their team composition (i.e. stacking Torbjorns), we'd really have struggled with getting point A in the first place.
It was ultimately very satisfying to beat them right at the end in Overtime, and then even more so when we crushed them on defense (they didn't seem to make it past the archway).
In fact, we had a bunch of games last night, where we seemed to win right at the end. It was gratifying to see that Tracer and his team mates opt out after we beat them Dorado with us being attack. I also remember we pulled out a win on Temple of Anubis in overtime as well that was incredibly satisfying.
Sadly I didn't get to Reinhardt as much as I normally like. Instead I had to McCree / Mercy / Symmetra it up (I seem to forever only get 18 teleports; there was one game I was certain I'd get 20, but then all the PA players decided to not die for the last 90 secs of a match; doofusses).
I honestly can't wait for the Torbjorn nerf on consoles.
So, update on this control scheme....turns out Zenyatta and Hanzo are totally unplayable like this. Their Ability 1 and 2 switch spots between mouse/keyboard and controller. When I tried to play Zenyatta, both of the ability buttons I have set up would fire Discord. I noticed Hanzo did the same later, when I was messing around. Not sure if anyone else does that switch, but at least it's none of the main characters I play. Although I kinda liked Zenyatta.
Really hoping they can do something to fix this now.
The PS3 Move controller worked fine, once I got some drivers installed. Smaller and easier to hold, even if I don't like the actual stick as much. I'll give it another night and see how it goes. Neck is still sore, I think from having to sit up straight to use the mouse, and not being able to get in close to the desk. Not sure how to adjust my setup to fix that...
I see them a lot on the first point and it's ever so annoying to crack that turtle as I took out 3 of them and 4 of the turrets but either the teleporter or I missed two and it's back to making turrets and back to square one
also re: offense torb managing to get a turret onto your payload and keeping it thete for any real length of time is the most magical thing
Saw that happen, and then the opposing Mei kept dropping ice walls right in front of it and I kept dropping Symmetra turrets next to it so it just kind of sat there firing impotently and they lost
Got PotG on Pharah a couple nights ago and when the highlight came up it said 'Savior' in little text off to the side and it was a moment where the enemy Mei was icing an un-mech'd D.Va and I was able to kill the Mei before she got the coup de grace on the D.Va and she was able to thaw and escape. I thought it was pretty cool that PotG rewarded a simple moment like that.
Well now I am dealing with people leaving the mic on or people screaming we need class right now at 10seconds over the in game voice
I am kind of happy I don't have a working mic but then telling them it's too late gets such lovely replies

Can you remap the keys for one or the other ability, to try and get both available again?
So, if anyone can, who can carry a team? My back is getting sore with where I'm being matchmade. If I've got golds in elims, damage, and objective time, and sometimes healing (thanks 76/Roadhog!) I don't know what more you wanted. Do I just have to Pharrah all day erryday till that works?
Like everyone else was saying there's kind of a minimum level of skill your team needs or you're toast no matter what. Symmetra is the closest I think particularly on defense since teleporters let you drag your team kicking and screaming to victory, and turrets let you still influence the battle even if you die. Plus you can kinda switch roles on her and go assassinate mercy if that's what's needed, or just lob orbs into group piles from far out if that's whats needed.
If the skill differential is high enough I've seen people carry with pretty much whoever, so long as they are good enough at murder... just 3v1 and kill everyone every time but if said godly player is backed up by complete trash they'll still get unluckily killed at some point and then the team kinda collapses until they get back.
The hardest carry in the game is still probably widowmaker.
I mean, it doesn't really matter if your team is pretty bad if the enemy team is dead nearly the entire match.

I got a weak potg as junkrat last night, I disrupted a whole gaggle of enemies with conc mine, killed a fellow junkrat (rip brother), then conced a pharah in the air and killed her with a grenade I bounced off a wall
Killing an airborne pharah as junkrat feels real good

I'm really growing to love my Pharah.
Had a game today on Volskaya on D where we kept them on A, including me seeing two Tracers about to take the left flanking route and concussion blasting them both off the map. So satisfying.
Had one yesterday on Numbani where I was in a small room to the left of the tunnel into D spawn, Reinhardt saw me, charged into the room, I boosted over him, hit the ceiling while he hit the wall and then spun and rained justice on him before he even had a chance to turn around.
Really, her concussion blast is way more fun than her rockets. Especially when you can use it on an ulting Winston or a Roadhog who just chained someone and is really looking forward to that kill.

Depends when the Widow is killing them. If she's shooting the enemy down while half her team is still dead and not pushing then you still get the whole losing thing. It's frustrating to experience.

I can't commit at the moment because I'm at work and my authenticator is at home, but have you checked to make sure you don't have hero specific keybindings set up for Zenyatta and Hanzo? It could just be a weird conflict with the customs merging with either the controller or mouse half of the default bindings in your hybrid setup.
I know I had a weird issue when I tried to set up a custom keybind with Reaper. I tried to set his teleport as RMB, since it was otherwise unused, except that caused alt-fire to unbind, and the cancel button isn't really cancel, it's alt-fire, so I had no way to cancel out of a teleport.
I saw someone named "LonerAthiest" but they did not play reaper
The other night my friends and I ran into a guy named Reaper who played only McCree for the few rounds he got matchmade with us. Ran into him again the next day, still only McCree.

So I'm only level 19 and my drive to play has definitely gone down as getting enough exp for a loot crate takes longer and longer, and it isn't even really that long yet
I want some shiny new shit with less time spent but also without spending money
Yeah, maybe 23? Somewhere in that vicinity it plateaus at 22k to level.
If you're playing QuickPlay that usually means 4-5 games to level if you're in a group and don't lose every game, and get a few medals in.

Well that's good to hear, it's felt like it has gone from being an easy crate a night to each crate being a multiple night thing but maybe I'm just getting salty and quitting after just a single game or two
Yeah, really good snipers are much fewer and further between on consoles.
I imagine for that rare console sniper prodigy though she still wrecks shop.
But yeah, especially now with patches console and PC Overwatch may as well be different games, which always makes the conversations in this thread about game balance and class counters and the like interesting.

I can usually get two crates per night playing a few hours. You're gonna lose a bunch. Just gotta accept that. I'm sitting just below 50% win rate. Most people are.
I wouldn't even know where to look for a win rate. I guess I took the "winning isn't important, just have fun" mentality to the extreme, because outside of the few odd super close matches where a victory get squeaked out, I don't really care if I win or lose at all.
The stuff that frustrates me are the games where we lose because everyone on the opposing team decided to turtle up as Bastion. That's not even a game at some point.

This was a fun one.
Punching a Pharah out if the sky is so fucking satisfying. It feels like I'm flying up and punching God right in the face.

Flankin' turrets make O-torb fun too, esp if you MC to build 'em fast.

It's not fun to run into the 3+ turtle of Torbjorn which is ever so popular now
It certainly could do with some work with regards to how hard that last point is to take, but it is incredibly satisfying to win as attack

Point B on Anubis I commonly see 2 Torb, Bastion or 2, Symmetra, and Mercy. This is my nightmare.
