I didn't even feel anything over here. At 2am when we were supposed to be getting the worst of it, it wasn't even raining.
So, not being funny. Saw this early this morning and have had a debate with myself over all morning.
Is this "blackface"? (use the term loosely here but you know what I mean)
I think, artistically it's cool as fuck.
I feel as if the theme is clear and obvious enough that skin color isn't "the point" so much as a damn good way to contrast the fact that this is supposed to be a stitched together monster thing.
I don't know that that feeling or intentions is enough to get over the sensitivity hump. I am also white as fuck and I am not sure if I am being oversensitive about my trepidation or too enthusiastic for my admiration.

Since i think the point is to illustrate that the pieces came from different people, it works. Also it's not as if there are features that are otherwise exaggerated for effect.
Do the exact same thing on someone's face, though, and while the intent might be the same, there's way more opportunity for an offensive interpretation. I'm not offended by this at all.
