Okay so that quote supposedly from Clinton about Saudi Arabia...

Why is it even a thing? Saudi Arabia isn't our ally because we like them, and they certainly aren't our ally because they like us. We are in an arrangement that benefits us both. Saudi Arabia has been criticized by sitting Presidents and Senators before.

I would wager that Donald Trump has probably talked worse shit about Saudi Arabia, but that's only because he's probably talked shit about every country on Earth. I don't know any actual quotes off the top of my head.

    Because it's all they have.

So judging by the response from GOPers, they don't disagree with Donald's comments, just that he verbalized them out loud and got caught. If the GOP had found out privately he'd said these things, it wouldn't be a big deal, heck they might even fist bump him. But he had the gall to get outed, and now they need to condemn him for what he said, even though they're only angry he got caught.

We live in a fucked up world.

It sounded like a statement from a normal campaign with garbage like "Let's be honest. This is nothing more than a distraction." added onto it by Trump.

Oh yeah, 100%. You could almost see the gun barrel off to the side. The word choice of "Hillary Clinton and her kind" seems... poor, in light of the fact that this whole thing is how shitty he is to Hillary Clinton's "kind" (which I'm sure is intended to be aimed at politicians or whatever).

Oh holy crap I didn't even hear about the Central Park Five thing

What he said today or what he said twenty years ago?

What he said today. It shouldn't shock me, but it really drives home that a chunk of America is trying to give power of life and death of millions of people to a guy who thinks five men exonerated by DNA evidence should be executed anyway just because he still believes they're guilty.

"Nothing more than a distraction" will be featured in a video because it is amazingly dismissive of the whole sexual assault stuff.

Debate is going to be 100% Bill Clinton, based on that statement. Also could not transparently be reading off a prompter/cue card more if he was guest hosting SNL.

Does feature the hilarity of Donald Trump briefly attempted to broadcast empathy and then giving it up as a bad job, which is the most self-aware thing he's done in 16 months.

GOP endlessly decries Trump's comments, yet none have the intestinal fortitude to withdraw endorsement. Cowards, the lot of them.

Supreme Court, again. 4 years of Hillary locks the court to the left for 20 years. 8 years of Hillary could lock the court to the left for 40 years, optimistically. The death of the conservative agenda could not come more certainly than when the branch of government that they need to defeat measures won at the ballot box and in the halls of congress is placed beyond their grasp, effectively permanently (since even 20 years from now we'll see a sea-change in politics).

Scalia's death means they *need* this win, no matter what vile Trump traits they have to cover for.

Nah, she's aware it's a town hall and going off on tangents to attack voters is a bad idea. Unless there's a conveniently placed question about say, sexual assaults in the military or on campus.

Trump is not aware of this though.

Christ, even the poor bastard writing it doesn't understand that you can't say "whatever, this is just a distraction and doesn't matter" in an apology.

Apology was total nonsense. I honestly cant believe the comments on the Facebook video. I'm so mad.

As an Army veteran with PTSD, I was literally shaking with rage on Trump's comments a few days ago. It's nonstop, every single thing that he says is so...I don't even know, not evil but just so infuriating.

I should be a political consultant. Make the big bucks. All I'd need to do is explain to people running for office the difference between:

    1) Being sorry for something you did

    2) Being sorry people were offended by what you did

Because holy shit they are not the same thing.

  • Desktop HippieDesktop Hippie Registered User regular
I do find it funny that Trump tried to excuse losing the last debate by claiming his mic was broken and now his chances in the next debate are scuppered because of a mic working with perfect, crystal clarity at long range.

I literally made the same exact joke in steam chat.

It's so, so obviously un-Trumplike speech. Even when it slips into attacking Bill at the end, you can tell that he forced them to "compromise" by slipping in an attack at the end, but they workshopped it to hell and back and said "Look, Donald, we're going to re-record this over and over until you read it word for word"

  • emp123emp123 Registered User regular
I'm still working my way through the previous thread, but I'm pretty sure Trump is the exception to the rule that everyone has at least one positive quality.

I think people are rarely actually sorry for what they did when they get caught with this kind of shit but in politics they're usually at least decent at faking sincerity in their apology
