So East panel submissions close December 16th, so it's time to get the ball rolling on a pin panel! I set up a Google form for people to submit their ideas if they want to be a part of the panel. This is open to anybody who wants to be involved, and your ideas will be shared with a group of judges after the closing date on this (November 13th at 11:59PM PST). As noted in the form, there's a few things to consider to be on the panel, such as being available to chat about the panel, bringing ideas to the table, be able to speak on stage in front of a large group of people, etc. If you don't think you'd be able to do some of these things, maybe throw your hat in to help contribute in other ways, and if you have any concerns/doubts/questions on how the panel works please PM me here or on Slack and I'd be happy to help.

Personal info such as your handle will be kept private from those judging, so this should be solely based on content and having a mix of ideas that we can make into one great panel.

Needless to say I plan to be the head of the panel leaving 5 open spots for others available. If there's an issue with this please feel free to message me.

My hopeful timeline for all of this to happen:

11/1-11/14: Panelist submissions are open! Open submission to be a judge will be open during this time as well.
11/15-11/21: Hand data off to group of judges to make a decision on the panelists.
11/22-12/14: Write and submit the panel as a team.

tl;dr the panel "application" is now open, there are deadlines for each step as we only have so much time and there's holidays in the middle, etc. This is open to anybody with a passion for this hobby and community, so be sure to check it out before 11/14!

I'd also like to note, that if you're not interested in the panel but want to contribute to East, we're going to need some community members to handle some other tasks such as community meetups and the Pre-PAX dinner. @evanephrine did an amazing job getting the community trade events going at each of the US PAXen this year, however as of now he is not planning to be at East so we're going to need someone to fill his shoes. This is something that will need to be developed alongside the panel so we can make sure we cross-promote the two of them to get the word out to everyone we can about the community meetups/the panel/etc.

Good luck all and thanks for being awesome!
